  1. The E30 rejected its donor heart. The E30 will be given some immunosuppressants and we will try again.

  2. Thank you!!! I don’t know how/why “IRS swap” was added in the first place but appreciate you guys correcting it. There was no need to add this in when a value already existed in the form of “add up the non-OE parts that go into it”.

  3. It looks like GBU started the Road America races with 5 penalty laps after a re-tech on Friday. They must have added ~30 points of parts since the Sunday Indy race, because we were told in no uncertain terms that the car was legal and accurately valued there.

  4. As a board we voted, not unanimously but it carried, that IRS will be valued as the components that make it up. So they will have to contend with that too on top of the higher starting value. Just an FYI. we are trying, but there will always be a loophole to exploit. They exploited one exceedingly well. We are also raising the values on other older cars with gigantic fuel tanks.

  5. Just found these pics and decided to upload. Feel free to take them for your own use, or ridicule me for waiting so long to get them up. https://drive.google.com/drive/folders/12p9LIVQo0VtRjB6MVH9TfREKiF0TExjW?usp=sharing

  6. I am going to disagree. They have 200 points to play with, 50 of which are for the rear susp swap. I think with 150 (or 200 if they want to take 5 laps)) they can easily field a 300hp version of that car. As long as they have enough power to pass people on straights, and the ability to use the same tires, in the same quantity they have last couple of races, this car will be faster than the field, by a good margin.

  7. I bet they could trade 50pts for tenths and get 5 laps back.

  8. That’s rather optimistic! I think high 2:48 may be possible... the CRX ran 2:47.1 and has better braking and handling (no doubt due to the aero). Can’t wait to get the BMW out to Road America in April.

  9. I pulled the Sunday data. Basically: Best Lap Times across the field: GBU: 2:37.3 Overall Mean: 2:56.9 Slowest: 3:22.1 Delta from GBU to P2: 7.8 Delta from GBU to Mean 19.6 Delta from GBU to Slowest: 44.8 -------------------------------------- So if they ended up at 550 Pts after the re-tech, but still have same P/W...........something is wrong with the rule structurally. Show me another car in the VPI table at 550 pts that has a similar P/W number...I'll wait.......

  10. Did you paint the heart the proper color first? Have to take everything into account.

  11. Is this part not just a "nut" 4.7.3. Items that are point free: Hardware, fasteners, and materials used to attach things to other things (nuts, bolts, screws, rivets, duct tape, bailing wire, zip ties, JB Weld, etc.)

  12. Suggestion: Look at 17"s, unless you go something other than the c5 brake kit. The c5 brakes will fit the 17" (might need to slightly kiss some of the fins on the caliper). 17's are cheaper and you have a lot more tire options.

  13. Yes. That’s my point. They could have 1/2 the fuel capacity and still challenge for wins.

  14. They ran 2 hours twice at Indy. Have not looked at the data from this weekend.

  15. With enough penalty laps it won't matter. We won't ban them because they are fast. That's just petty. But we can even the playing field by starting them with more laps in penalty.

  16. FYI the car ran out of gas at 1 hour 50 minutes at NL. Had to take a 5 minute pit with 10 minutes left in the race.

  18. They would never do that to the Riley team. They drive safe, just excessively fast.

  19. I concur. There are areas that could be changed with minimal impact to performance. 50 points easily. They are now a 550 car. Come January however they are a 700 point car. I am less convinced they can remove 150+points for minimum performance impact. I suspect they will just have a competitive car with 2hrs of fuel vs a dominant one.

  20. Just a thought; Has Champcar ever invoked Rule #2.2.2 on a 500 point car 2.2.2. ChampCar reserves the right to deny entry to any EC car if ChampCar determines the car to be excessively superior in power, braking, top speed or other factors that ChampCar feels would be unsafe or disruptive to any event.

  21. The championship race is based on previous years rule book, so the car that qualified is the car that races.

  22. It had that with the M20 or darn near. And as I said the motor needs to stay together as RA is really hard on that part of the package. I hope they get it sorted soon, all jokes aside. It runs hard when it is on track.

  23. We all know that one will do it but not sure about the orange, now yellow monster???? Has to finish or wait has to start first.

  24. It's not. We have the ones in the picture I posted. It doesn't use any fancy stuff to mount it just a big grade 8 bolt and a stack of washers.

  25. Edit see this is wrong now. I didn't under stand the two column thing though we were going from 2583 to 2830. New swap is indeed 60pts, you are doing it wrong if you turn around an entire swap over 4pts either way. Sounds like you just need to make a free airdam or sideskirts out of reused material and remove the coil overs.

  26. Old weight 2870, new weight 2830? Points go "up", for the same 190 horses. I make it 60 points... and I was already going to be one lap down.

  27. Lol um yes finish it, VQ30 swap went from 56pts(2019) to 60pts(2021), whats the issue?

  28. They only won by 3 laps after starting 5 down on such a short track like Road America?!?! Obviously the playing field is level and there is nothing more worth discussing.

  29. I think this is terrible news. It just means that any shock that is easily rebuildable by a novice end user is 25 points. There are plenty of specialty tools and methods to regas a rebuilt damper without adding a Schrader valve. Anyone that wants the ability to end user rebuild their shocks without adding a Schrader valve let me know. Looks like I could make some $ selling gas charging stations or gas needle conversion setups. Instead I would have hoped you would just drill and tap your shock body for a $3 Schrader valve..... BTW, gas charge does not change

  30. Your last trip to this side of the border there were no survivors after the watering hole meeting. American lightweights cannot hang with the Canucks when it comes to consumption. And yes it is a conspiracy. You guys need to vote the Socialist out of office. Shame Mopar does not have a car worthy of our series.

  31. Border still closed. I think it’s a conspiracy. also team has changed name to Acura 4 now

  32. I do not know why you would think we would make you go through the line again for those adjustments as we do these updates all the time for anyone. You may have to wait a short time for us to get clear to take a look and adjust your book.

  36. I missed the races that we win by 5 laps. We already take 2 extra pit stops in a 14 hour race, which is already at least a 4-lap penalty. But I think message being sent it pretty clear and we hear it, especially when after being targeted for the past 2 years we are the only Mustang that gets an increase. Of course, there can't be other cars on the podium. Must maintain the status quo, and it's been getting shaken up lately so time to restore it.

  38. Apparently Chumpcar has moved to an alternate universe in the last few years. From $50 cars in the backyard to 996s...
    1 point
  39. Nah... @ Harris Hill a Miata is probably faster than a 996. (especially if you can run coil overs in the Miata).. and no IMS to worry about.

  40. Yall ever heard of a shop that won't sell time on their dyno for a baseline run? They only want to do tuning. I just wanted to see how much power I lost but apparently thats not allowed.
