  2. Oh, was installing the new racecapture pro mk3.... had to take the intake manifold off.... Forgot that the water temp sensor is in the lower intake manifold. Crap. Had to take lots of other stuff off to make it happen AS WELL AS the fuel line, vacuum lines, throttle cable, etc.... oh well. It's done now and I have reliable sensors in place. Tomorrow, I finish wiring and mounting the racecapture and the tablet to have as a dash.

  3. Drove car to work, totally forgot about the wipers breaking as we lined up @ the last race. This is why the car has tags. New rotors/pads going on front, but what the heck, no symptoms, RF caliper dripping from the case half? Tightened the bolts a little and it stopped, not bad, these are 3ish yr old china copies from rock auto. Over the years we have crossed/lost a wheel stud here and there being complacent/busy/tired after post race inspection, Daytona was double special when co-owner Mike took the jack before realizing I had placed the LF wheel on but not the nuts (in my hand talking to someone away from the car) I was last off pit road and had to push my luck with the impact gun. Messing with a cool random PIAA yellow tint fog in the spares box. Not great but in a pinch it will do if we loose a light @ the track. Picking up dinner and breakfast while bedding new pads Lunch Now waiting for generic replacement rear rotors and hoping UPS finds our MIA ebay diff cooler pump.

  4. No!!!! Never use RTV in a fuel system, I did that thinking that it would dry around the fuel sending unit o-ring, ( just to make sure it wouldn't leak) it was a month later before I added gas to the tank, the RTV oozes out once gas contacts it and fell into the tank an was sucked up on the screen in the fuel pump, one good test session followed by 3 bad ones! Then home and saw the RTV in the fuel pump inlet!

  5. I also used a dirt bike gear bag from AXO I Believe. Holds everything and then some. Stilo helmet bag, suit, cool shirt, gloves, shoes, drink bottle with plenty of room to spare. Plus I think I only paid $35 and its served me for 2+ years at this point. I love it, and its my team colors to boot.

  6. I need to clarify a bit... We use the stock Mazda booster. However, when I mentioned my issue to a drift buddy, he said it was super common on s13 nissans. He said if you can shake the booster and hear a rattle, there is a sort of proportional valve in the booster that has moved out of its position. Essentially what happens when this moves out of position is that you get full brake boost all the time. This makes the pedal feel super soft and makes the brakes super grabby and they can drag. That ruins your brake pads. And yes, I meant hp+ rears. The rx7s stock system means that the rears will lock fairly easily with stock proportioning with the same race pads front and rear.

  7. I'm back to hawk blue front and hp+ fronts on the rx7. Last about 24 hours. Cost about 280$. If you are running a 2nd gen rx7 with stock brakes and feel like you need more, there is something wrong. We had a booster lose the little assist valve and couldn't keep any brakes in the car for more than 8 hours. Google Nissan brake booster issue. It's how I found my issue on the rx7. There is a little piece in the booster that needs to be in place or your brakes feel like crap and you ruin pads.... Edit: I remembered the part in the booster that was bad. It's called the reaction disc. Here is a post from a z car forum that does a good job of explaining what can happen. https://forums.hybridz.org/topic/69706-reaction-disk-pictures-and-walkthrough/

  10. Yea, I waited for the flag to be pulled. This is the in car of it. You can hear my radio when he says it's going to go green, then you see flagtronics turn green. It's hard to see the flagger from the video until it gets closer, but then you can see it was still double yellow. Also, I need to have it in 2nd for restarts...3rd is no good. Must remember that next time.

  13. We're officially in. Yes, there is a Turn 1 day scheduled for that Friday, which is their in-house track day org so you'll need to sign up with CMP. Looks like we'll also meet the 5 car rule for Nissan/NISMO contingency. I'm really looking forward to this one, reminds me of the early days.
