  1. So my wife and I just had our 5th child. (there's a joke in that alone) She was nearly 2 weeks late when she finally went into labor. The day before we had the baby, she had a doctor's appointment. The doctor informed us that the office policy is to not let a pregnancy go past 42 weeks. In spite of our protests about wanting it to occur naturally, they insisted and scheduled an induction 2 days later. As the doctor left the room, I said "This is just forced induction!"
  2. Apples/oranges comparison, but the 2 SpecE46s that I worked with for the 13hr at VIR were getting 1:15-1:35 on the stock tank. 325i with 19.1 gallons should be able to get pretty close to running 2 hours.
  3. I had to search when I saw "tegris" but then it hit me...I work for a defense contractor and we use tegris as backs for MOLLE pockets.
  4. Even with a halo seat and HANS, the center net helps to keep the helmet contained within the wings of the seat. I've seen a video of an incident where the driver's helmet went forward and was wedged under the halo after an impact. The car had quality belts that were installed correctly and he was wearing a HANS, but it still happened.
  5. While I don't support their position on it, I say good for them for having a position and standing by it. I wasn't going to buy any of their stuff before, but I definitely won't now.
  6. There was a team that we used to work with in Conti that would "lose" a rear bumper from at least one car a race. Turns out the car is enough faster to justify buying a new bumper cover for every race weekend.

  8. What size wheels are the other 2 RX7s running? I know you love 15" wheels, so I'm leaning towards the air not being able to get out thru the vanes efficiently.
  9. Not to suggest that we should pump everyone out at every race, but I used to handle fuel operations for a Conti team. In the 4 seasons I worked on the cars, we changed out 2 or 3 lift pumps out of service cycle (which was a season, IIRC) and even that was a preventative measure because the amperage for those pumps was reading low. Our procedure was pump out to dry at the end of each day. You only need to hear the pumps run dry and spit a little bit to get you into the ballpark. Try to start the car and if it doesn't crank, bam, that's a close enough capacity test.

  11. Hey guys, I got a good deal over the weekend on some roll bar padding and I figured I would share the love. JEGS brand padding with SFI rating for $14 per 3' section. This is for 1.5"-2" bars and is only the red or blue, but this is cheaper than I've seen aside from scratch and dent stuff.   12. I noticed that when I watched the video of Kenny Brack thrashing a GT40 there a few years ago.
  13. I didn't see that the flaggers were standing in the bundle of tires, so they have at least improved that aspect of their safety.
  14. If you can get it for cheap, the shell is the only thing really of value to the e30 crowd. Small fuel tank, unlikely to have a LSD, and a bad final drive ratio.
  15. In my karting days, I was 50/50 on grenading engines with and without oil. Fun fact: they definitely feel more powerful without any oil in them.
  16. Finished the roll cage on Friday night. It actually looks like we knew what we were doing.
