  1. Good Day Champ-o-sphere, Our team will have an open seat for the 2019 race at Daytona and at least one seat available for the race at Charlotte. We are a 3-man Texas team that has raced in Chumpcar for several years including TMS and "The 37" at ECR 2014, COTA 2016 and Daytona 2016 and 2017.   3. No cover for the seat but the Ultrashield guys can make one for you. Boxing is a bit of a challenge but it can be done. Last time I shipped a seat it was in the $30-$40 range...
  4. Good day to all my fellow Chumpcar, err, Champcar folks! In a perfect world, there would be enough time to work, live and race, however, life tends to be less than ideal. With that said, it's come time to send all the parts and pieces accumulated over the past couple of years for the race car buils to the next man. included: Two Mustangs - a 1985 GT 5.0 and a 1990 GT 5.0, both are factory 5-speed cars have full suspension under them. The 1985 still has it's title and is mostly complete though gutted for build-out. the 1990 is missing the front fenders and drivers door. 1985 has the 7.5 and the 1990 has has 8.8 extra 8.8 rear end - trac-lok: 3.55 (fresh track-lok clutches) setup for disc brakes out of a Turbocoupe extra Turbocoupe front K-member with complete front suspension, steering rack and TC brakes(same diameter as SN95). two 2.3L Turbo engines (turbo-to-pan) out of 1988 Turbocoupes - both are complete and will need to be freshened. One has two events on it but might need a rod resized and the crank turned. Block, cylinder bores/pistons etc in great shape. Includes late model Ranger roller cam and followers. extra 2.3L EFI head compatible with turbo setup fresh from the machine shop with mild port work, fresh springs and bigger valves. two computers from the Turbo coupes including full wiring harness two SVO 4cyl T5 transmission - both in fully operable condition. CE mini-stock roll cage kikt with NASCAR style door bars. (not assembled, will likely need a bit of surface rust removed) 3-4 sets of foxbody wheels - at least two sets of factory snowflake 16x7 Partial exhaust system with Flowmaster muffler, etc., etc., etc. Anything else I find for the car will also go with it. Have several sets of used 245 and 225 Hoosier DOT slicks that go with them as well. There's likely 80%-85% of what one would need to complete a racer along with a plethora of spares. You'll need interior wiring, lights, seat, gauges, cool suit hardware, and random odds and ends. Would like to get $2000 for everything (might throw in the kitchen sink...) If you need a seat, I'm selling a new, never used 2015 18" Ultrashield HaloVS separately for $250. Might make a deal with the package list above.   8. Good afternoon Everyone, I apologize in advance if this is a concluded topic. I have a virtually unused Simpson Voyager Air Enforcer SA2005 helmet with a DOM of 02/11/09 and an Impact Racing Carbon Fiber SA2005 dated 05/08; both with HANS posts and radio equipment. Would these helmets still be usable under the 2017 rules or no? As best as I can tell, it would not be be via the 2017 rules: 3.10. DRIVER'S HELMET 3.10.1. Undamaged, full-face, Snell Type SA helmet, or FIA certification is acceptable. All helmets expire 11 years after date of certification.Note: Snell Type M helmets (motorcycle) or other non-SA helmets are not rated for fire resistance and are not allowed. Sharing helmets between team members is very highly discouraged. Is the date of certification when the SA rating was finalize and published(October 2005), and date of manufacture (DOM) when the helmet is actually made? Or, are they used interchangeably? Any input would be most appreciated! KCCO! (Keep Calm and Chump On)
  9. According to the SFI website, Ztech is listed among the 38.1 companies and the one I received has an SFI 38.1 sticker (for whatever that's worth). Didn't find any testing data, however; if SFI approved the device, then it stands to reason that it passed the same scrutiny as the HANS, Leatt, NecksGen and the like. Nevertheless, SFI may provide the test data if you contact them and request it. That said, mine was comfortable straight out of the box. I did make minor adjustments to the arms for proper fit, per the instructions; which did not affect any changes in comfort level. All helmet hardware was included and installed as expected. The one I ordered came from Apex Performance (super nice people) and, with the ChumpCar discount, cost $330 shipped to Texas this past August. It missed getting used at the Harris Hill race by a couple of hours, so I don't have any "real racing" experience with it. However, it feels very similar to the Dfendr and Leatt on the body and expect a similar wearing experience during competition. Yes, I realize all this is still subjective but hopefully provides another data point. Cheers and happy racing,
