  1. You needed the extra horsepower...I acknowledged your extra 100 bald eagles with the "number one" sign... Nice build @mcoppola to bad Rodger couldn't use all the potential like your other drivers. Maybe with his new fancy RV he will sleep better and drive faster!
  2. "get out of the way, 1.6 liters of fury coming thru!"
  3. We don't run a fan(s), you likely have something blocking flow to your rad if you are still on factory setup. We had this happen at Charlotte that cost us a win. Upper factory ducting had broken loose from previous tire wall contact and started to hang down in the bumper opening diverting air away from rad. Check that first.
  4. and you let him drive your car...
  5. Keep ABS! Remember we race in ALL conditions! Keep build simple until you get some laps on it. Manual brakes done right should be a nice improvement in braking performance as you always have a consistent pedal (especially for left foot brakers) and you can truly bias the brakes versus work around the OEM biasing. Tilton only recommends some very pricey brake masters with ABS, something about seal "nibble" from pressure oscillation or fluid hammer.
  6. I think you would have a good petition argument for vpi reduction...
  7. Wrong, i know jay and ray have been discussing the filler neck issue for a long time. i will admit this was likely not the best way to "solve" the filler neck dilemma but can you honestly say the teams that picked a car knowing it was fuel limited would have purchased a cell regardless? Is safety of our participants above all else the most important aspect here?
  8. Titanium, iconel, etc. should be banned for use in Champcar. Besides Grant there are some rather fast P-Cars running titanium exhausts that I am aware of.
  9. Good reason to get a bigger trailer and sell me the "small" one! "Friend price!"
  10. The SVO was my first "love" as a budding car enthusiast. My father was working at a Ford Dealership when those first showed up, and its styling changes, even though subtle hinted at a European flavor that I would come to favor later in life.
  11. This should be no surprise Grant, it is the main way the series attempts to hold speed creep down.
  12. He likely loses to Huggy, but they are both cerebral guys and would push each other to the limit.
  13. This is where I was when the SC300 went from 400-->500pts. No discussion, no process, (that I was ever privy to) just a quick judgement from the CEO. Those are not the same times now. Since that time the organization has added a Technical Advisory Committee, identified members on the Board who would help oversee BCCR, Swaps formulas, Petition Process and Board approved VPI determinations. Unfortunately what we are seeing here play out on the forums is those new entities determining how best to implement better practices. As much as Troy/Jer think a change in VPI will alienate teams, not making adjustments for an overdog could likely create an equal exodus amongst the organization. That being said the more variables we allow will only complicate these scenarios and a team that does all the homework could in fact create an overdog from a car that isn't exactly one(i am talking SC300 here...hint, hint) as the NC could very well be. I would hate to see any team leave Champcar due to a VPI change or situation where they believe that cant compete, but its a slippery slope we seem to wrestle with every year on at least 1 car. So obviously as an organization we still have some work to do on getting it right but @snowman the process is getting better. John The guy who races with Chris and Troy...
