  1. Apologies as I read the post while chatting with someone here at the office and missed the whole choice of leaving it an auto or swapping in a manual for points.. I would probably pick running the slush box and competing for a spot, we ran an auto Mercedes years ago in Lemons and while a completely different experience, it was fun.
  2. Run EC, stay clean and clear of those vying for a podium spot and you should be fine.
  3. You must be counting the hours you spend posting what you ate for breakfast on Facebook.......😉
  4. You are correct, we did not produce/provide the Maxxis decals.
  5. The challenge is choosing a material that stays put in 100+mph rain, but doesn't pull the paint off when removing. As such, we chose a 3M material that has decent adhesion, but is classified as temporary, therefore less likely to pull paint off , etc. If they are applied to a clean/dry factory finish, they will stay on during the races, but can be removed after the season without pulling paint. If they are put on over a rattle-can or a paint roller paint job, then they can/will remove some paint when removed, we found our the hard way on our car when we first decided to wrap it. Those hours I spent applying Rustoleum were for naught as that paint pulled right off when affixing decals. Also if the decals are hastily applied last minute in the rain to make the drop of the green flag, they tend not to do as well. I am intrigued by the magnetic board suggestion, but I would hate to be black flagged if my number panel fell off. Maybe we could try some during the next race(s) along with the standard panels and see how they do. Justin
  6. Unfortunately, we will not be at this one as I am recovering from knee surgery and we were thin for this race to start with. Please contact Tyler at the shop if you need anything for this race as I know we have been filling quite a few orders this past week. Good Luck! Justin
  7. Proof that regardless of topic, a little shade can be thrown.
  8. That look like an interesting option. I wonder how it would hold up to the higher temps of the brake caliper?
  9. I agree on giving the faster a little more grunt. I am usually the one on the team that is called into action to free a stuck faster, or make sure what we put on is as tight as it can be. Regarding lights, the link below is what we have been buying from Amazon. Works perfectly if all of your numbers are straight, like 111, not so much on anything else. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/71HYaVR4-6L._SL1001_.jpg We bought some of these12V LED rope type lights as well, which turned out to be junk. The flickered for a few minutes than went out. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B071WRWJH4/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o03_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 If anyone finds a good flexible light tape I would be interested as well. Justin
  10. Morning fellow Champs. We had 3 of the four caliper bolts decide they liked Daytona so much that they removed themselves from the calipers while on track. Our guy swears hey used loctite during re-assembly. We are wondering if anyone has any experience/suggestions on wether we should switch to a high temp thread locker, or what they use to make sure things stay fastened. Thanks in advance for any advice. Justin
  11. http://www.pci-racing.com/wp-content/uploads/2016/09/SLIDER-KIT-5-456x337.jpg We have this slider in two cars and it works quite well. We go from 6'5" to 5'4" and combined with a back support that can be adjusted during driver changes, it provides a solid base from which to wheel.
  12. https://images-na.ssl-images-amazon.com/images/I/715eJ19cuwL._SL1000_.jpg Amazon charges $39.99 for 100 of these. Resisting urge to make jokes.......must resist........
  13. Who knew the answer would be this easy? If they're good enough for the circle of trust, they're good enough for me!
  14. I would like to see pics as well.....no particular reason......just curious of course.....
  15. Thats a great question. I wouldn't imagine they would take issue with the free advertising, unless it is used in a derogatory way. We have yet to hear from anyone in Hollywood concerning our use of Sgt Shultz.
  16. I apologize for the delayed response as I was out of pocket last week. Message sent to Cam Betty. Troy, our E36 used 225.78 sq/ft and the E30 used 208.6 sq/ft of material. 5x45 may be cutting it kind of close. Justin
  17. Correct on all fronts! We are happy to be the title sponsor for ChampCar for the 2018 series. There will be patch panels available so one does not need to replace all of their number panels. The windshield banner has been updated, see below. The sponsor panels have not yet been finalized. We will have everything available for the first race of the season, on site, but as mentioned, one can order online and pay shipping to enjoy the luxury of applying the decals in the warm comfort of their shop, as opposed to in the cold dark of say a Road Atlanta tech line. I wanted to say thank you to everyone for their support over the past season and please let me know if there is something we can help you with. Best, Justin Andress
  18. We all know how cool it is to have that shirt that shows you knew the band before they were popular, or have the old school logo hat for your favorite driver etc. Well, you too can be that cool with......a vintage, old school Chumpcar pop-up tent! As we are working hand in hand with ChampCar to help with the printing needs involved with the name change, we find ourselves looking at a few tents that are going to be obsolete. As such, I would like to offer these tents up to the members well below our cost, as opposed to having them collect dust for years to come. If you have seen our tent at one of the events, you know these are definitely not the $89 Dicks Sporting Goods specials, they are by far the nicest pop-ups I have ever seen. These are new, still in the box and available for $650 + Shipping. Check out the link below to get a better feel for the tents and feel free to ask any questions you may have.
