  3. I have a brand new set of 99 top hats and bump stops, never been installed. paid 220 for both. Make a reasonable offer. you pay shipping and i would prefer paypal. I ended up going with custom hats and no bump stops, so i'd like to move them on to a good home. Thanks for looking. I can get a photo, they are just in the shed and i'm on the couch with a beer and that's just way too far to travel today
  4. I have a sub #2000 miata with 8 in rims. In the past we have run 205/50/15 rivals(non s) and been happy with them. I was thinking of maybe going with something different like the re71's in a 205 or the rs4's in a 225. They dont make the rs4 in a 205. Thoughts?
  5. For Sale - 1992 Mazda Miata 1.6L, full Cage, Race Ready Located = Atlanta Motorsports Park This car has 4 full events on it. It won 1st in class and 2nd overall at AMP in Oct 2015. It's not the fastest, but is reliable and handles very well. Would be great for a team just starting out or a team that wants a good base to start with. TCV is currenlty 375 so there is room to grow and/or do a 1.8L swap. Legal for 2018 Chump Car rules. Fully caged with Spec Miata suspension (coil-overs and sway bars with East Street adjustable end links), Torsen LSD, Adjustable seat, Schroth Enduro harnesses, Springfield Dyno exhaust, Longacre Water Temp and Water Pressure gauges with warning lights, External Tachometer with Shift Light, Aluminum race radiator, Custom rear brush bar, custom lightweight dash, custom lightweight half-top, light bar and door lights (already wired for night racing), wired for Cool Suit system with mounting tray in trunk, NRG quick release hub, new front calipers, new front rotors. Pads and tires good enough for some practice but not an event. Spares: Many misc Mazda 1.6 parts for motor, 1.6L motor (with slight knock that is fine for a rebuild), spare front fenders, spare hood, spare doors. Other Notes: Does not come with data acquisition or transponder. It does have a mount for an AMB transponder that you can rent from event organizers. There is a little damage on the right-side of the front bumper but nothing major and car/frame has no wrecks on it...just some door to door action. Price = $6,750
  6. Looks like i might have a seat opening up for Sebring. we have a 1990 Miata the ran super reliable at Daytona, we could not have been happier with it. we took a heavy lap penalty due to some adjustable shocks but still finished reasonably well considering. the shock issue is resolved so i expect a much better finish at Sebring. looking at 800 a seat and 500 crash deposit that will be refunded at the end of the race.

  9. Testing the waters here / Gauging interested here on a multi part Miata front splitter that Alchemy Autosport is running. We are on the ~13th version, and it now has all the details that I want from it. 2 deg down angle, adjustable from 4" / 5" / 6" front overhang. Makes enough downforce to balance our 5' x 12" rear wing. Made in 4 piece of wood. Splitter floor is made in mirrored left/right sections so you only have to replace one side in case of a curb strike or going off track. A great place to locate your brake ducts Also serves as a great way to increase radiator cooling flow, by blocking and sealing the front opening. Has an oil drain access hatch so you don't need to remove splitter for oil drains $235 plus shipping. Parts: - 2 floor piece halves (Left and right) - 2 Upright - 4 90 deg brackets - 2x Underside plastic skid plates - Front / Center / Rear Aluminium cross width bracket plates Sources yourself: - Angle Steel from Home depot (~$9) - Air Dam Plastic - RivNuts to attach Air Dam Plastic to front bumper - Stanchions - Hardware to assemble floor (bunch of M6x 40mm bolts and nylocks) Could also do a version where I send all the hardware / bolts / Riv-Nuts / etc to use our attachment method, right around $350. Tested and working great on an NA8 platform Miata. Also fits NA6 and NB miatas if you have one of those. Anyone interested?

  12. I've got a Miata with a Treasure Coast half top, which is a partial mold of the standard hardtop. I've been thinking about extending this into a fastback, but I don't know how many points that would cost. I think a fair ruling would be to add up the square footage of the additional portion that extends past the partial top, and then multiply by the type of materials used. But before I get started, I'd like some kind of official word on the points. FWIW, I'm not kidding myself about the performance vs effort here, this is largely to look cool and different than other Miatas. http://treasurecoastmiata.com/i-23790162-new-special-chop-top-for-race-miatas.html
  13. Hi All, For sale is a 1996 miata asking $7500. This was a family project and we worked from a stock miata to make it chump ready. We did a few track days down in Florida as well as competed in both the Sebring 2015 event ( As Black Flag Racing) and the Charlotte 2016 event (As Infernal Machine). We completed about 11 hours at Sebring (due to being hit and losing our lights) and finished the full 14 hours at Charlotte. We had hopes to do VIR this December but a combination of financial needs and family events are causing us to sell for now. The car is completely ready for ChumpCar and Lemons with harnesses and fire suppression still within date. The car comes with several extras (2nd set of wheels and new tires, gas cans, barrels, fire extinguisher, as well as some spare parts). The car has a relatively fresh engine as well (about 60000 miles) and an aluminum radiator. Its a great car and it would be perfect for a new team looking to get into racing. Price: $7500 Location: Raleigh, NC
  14. A new team is forming to campaign ad3adman's (Mike Davis) 1990 race prepped Mazda Miata in 2018. Because we're new, our plan is for a FUN, NO PRESSURE experience for our first few races. We won't judge you on your lap-times - as long as you don't judge ours Daytona is a 14 hour enduro = over three hours of track time, on Dayton's historic banking, for each driver on the team! Paid rides will get the early stints. Sebring 14 hour on September 22nd is definitely on our radar! Size matters - ad3adman and co-driver JohnMac are both about 5' 9' & 160lbs. We are looking for similarly sized teammates that can fit in a Miata with a 15" (non-adjustable) seat. Driver preparation: Sim training - with no practice available at Daytona, team drivers will have access to ad3adman's excellent simulator. You'll be able to learn the fastest line, proper gears and braking points around Daytona. The Sim is ran on a high-end gaming computer with triple 40" monitors, Fanatec Wheel, v2.5 pedals, and H-Pattern shifter. Full-Motion seat driven by 150mm actuators bolted to a Summit racing bucket seat all sitting on a custom built, all steel construction chasis. We can run IRacing and Project cars 2 depending on the track you need to learn. Real Driving - Track Days! We're planning to run the car 1 or 2 times at The Firm, between now and April. This is a great chance for you to get a few hours of seat-time at speed and a feel for the car if you've never driven a Miata + you'll be helping to sort out any handling or technical bugs in advance of Daytona. Cost - PM either ad3adman or JohnMac and we can discuss. If you have access to a truck/trailer, or can supply additional pit help, or have something else that would bring value (beyond your driving prowess) to the team, we can negotiate a lower cost for you. Interested?
  15. Need one driver to round out our roster at Atlanta Motorsports Park. $1200 for two stints or $1600 for three. Prorated refunds for expired car. Driver must have previously competed in Chumpcar and have all gear including IMSA comms. Car is a very comfortable 1999 Miata. OMP HTE-R 400 seat, Schroth 6 point harnesses, plenty of headroom, etc etc. Will run sub 1:40 laps at AMP. Currently garaged in Chesapeake, VA.
  16. So in my internet searching I cant find if there is or is not a damper body length difference between the B6 and the B8 Bilsteins. Does anyone know if they are identical physically on the outside or not?
  17. Before my old Miata went bye bye, I pulled a lot of good stuff out of it, some of which is being using in the new build, but the motor is not. It's a 1.8 stock motor, decked head and block, new valves 4 races ago, and is simply a tremendous motor. I have a dyno sheet for it done a few years ago. I'm selling the longblock complete for $700, including both manifolds, alternator. A/C and power steering pump deleted long ago. I'm in Denver, if you want shipping you'd have to arrange it, but this should be a plug and play motor. We had the fastest lap time at Laguna in November last year among Miatas by almost a second, at 1:52, and there was more in the car but I got rain. Other parts available: radiator starter water pump belts ECU MAF Come and get this. Cross-posted in various places, first come, first served.

  19. Looking for drivers for Sebring 2017 in September. 1995 Miata with Spec suspension; Race Capture for in Pit car info; Cool Suit; Helmet Air; PTT Radio; Nascar style Roll Cage. Driver fee should be between $750 to $1,000 unless we require pit help workers, fee would increase by about $250 per driver. If we have enough drivers that can work pit detail we can save the extra cost. Car value is at about 600 points, so it will most likely be more for fun. Please contact me at ShelbyGS@aol.com if you have an interest or questions.
  20. So we were going over some video from last year and one of our drives remembered an odd crash that happened in front of him. We found the incident. It is in this video, about 30 seconds, first at real speed and then at 1/2 speed. White Miata (looks like 968) appears to rear end the black Miata (cannot make out the number) which then spins, perhaps hitting the inside wall, as the black car's front end comes around, it punts the white Miata into the air, which is narrowly missed by Flying Tigers Racing driver Andy Maiers, who was hard on the binders, and then slams down to the pavement before spinning into the outside wall. I hope nobody was hurt in this incident, because every time I look at it I get a good laugh.
  21. Have a 96 miata that we are selling as a spare car of ours. If you are in the Richmond area (or even if you arent) take a look at the cragslist post linked below and let me know if you have any questions. https://richmond.craigslist.org/cto/6221485498.html
  22. 1997 Mazda Miata Track Car (not street legal), just received as a trade-in on another track car. The previous owner originally kept the car at Laguna Seca CA to use as a weekend track car. The car is equipped with the following: Stock Miata engine but upgraded with a Flyin’ Miata Turbo (with intercooler) with 10 lb boost rated at 250HP rear wheels dyno verified (previous owner assure me that he has eliminated the common overheat problem with Turbos!) Aluminum oversized radiator Monte Carlo bar for frame stiffening 6 speed upgraded Miata transmission 410 rearend set up for track use (top speed at 125mph) Ultra Shield race seat/Sparco harness for the driver with added passenger’s seating for passenger/instructor Toyo Proxes 205/50ZR15’s (plenty of tread left) mounted on Team Dynamics alloy wheels Flyin’ Miata coilovers Ground Control rollbar Momo detachable steering wheel Power windows Power mirrors Power steering Upgraded Blue Hawk brake pads All lighting in tact If you’re looking for an inexpensive weekend track car or for more serious competition, this car is a pleasure to drive (and a swift kick in the pants!). Needs a few items to run Chump (full roll cage; fire safety system; etc). For a viewing appointment, please contact John Haigler at Haigler Motors, Inc. in Tyler, Texas team member of PullMyFingaRacing #168 1968 Mustang Coupe. I can be reached at 903-258-2591 for calls or text and jchaigler@gmail.com for email inquiries.
  23. Located in Denver, Colorado but will be in Laguna Seca this weekend. 1996 Miata will be for sale after the race this weekend. I simply will not have time to be a car owner moving into 2017 with a job promotion and a lot more travel. Still racing, but can't take care of a car any longer. The car has done 18 races in Chumpcar, including three separate 24 hour Chumpcar races, one 24 hour race in WRL this last summer, and is ready for Laguna. I'm posting this now in case anyone on the west coast is interested in taking it off my hands after the race. Assuming nothing goes wrong at the race, it's a turnkey-ready race car! Car is super fun, and as fast or faster than the other NA Miatas out there. I was testing at High Plains Raceway in October and was walking the two spec Miatas there. We turned a 2:14 there. At Nelson Ledges it was a 1:21, at The Glen a 2:26, at Summit Point Shanandoah a 1:46.5. That's quick! This car handles as well as my Lotus Elise! The roof adds enough down force in the middle of the car to really make it stick. A little on the car: The car is a stock 1996 somewhat rebuilt two races ago, with forced air into the stock block. We've done a lot of testing, and this setup gets the best low end pull out of corners. -Aluminum radiator. -Whiteline 22MM front sway bar. -camber-adjustable upper A-arms, super great for adjustment track by track! -car has been on a big diet, and is is below 2000 pounds caged without gas. -cage passing tech in both WRL and Chump for years. -non-crunchy transmission, works perfectly. -Full fire suppression system included, the big one! -Coolshirt box and hoses included (new in August). -KYB GT-2 shocks -Kirkey seat and belts (new this year) included, good through 2021. -set of 7.5 15 inch rims -set of Enkei 15s as well! -new resonator -roof net so no need for arm restraints in Chumpcar -3rd set of 15 inch rims with sticker radial tires for optimum rain racing (might get on the car this weekend!) -I will also include four radios and the wiring. PTT, Nascar harness. -pit board and lollypop included too. like I said, turnkey. Add rented transponder and gas, you'll be ready to rock and roll. Other goodies I will share with the perspective new owner but not publically. Logbook in both WRL (electronic) and hard book for Chump, value at $479 currently. It's been a great car, and has countless top tens. It has finished every race it's been in except one. In addition to It will include the following parts! holy crap do we have spare parts! -transmission -rear diff -brake calipers galore! -ECU -PPF -water pump -clutch and pressure plate -starter, and another starter -slave cylinder -master cylinder -rear right turn signal -radiator (with fans already attached) -another radiator! -rear new brake rotor -used other rotors for all corners -used spare ball joint -used spare hub carriers -NIB inner and outer ball joints as well -spare upper stock A-arms -spare NIM KYB GR-2 shock -spare stock shocks too -extra coolshirt box with a small leak (should be an easy fix) -axles (2) -another torsen diff, not in a carrier -coilpack -plugs, plug wires -brake pads of varied use Asking $4500 for all of it. Don't forget that included Coolshirt box is worth $250, the included fire suppression costs $500+. I also have an AIM Solo that could go for an extra $250. In addition, my 24 foot enclosed racing trailer is for sale after the race as well. It's a great trailer, built 2003, Classic brand, enclosed with interior vinyl siding, diamond plate flooring, a built in 6750 Watt generator, built in double tire racks which will hold 8-10 tires, cabinets lining the front and a nice counter and lower storage. Built in winch hidden in cabinet, luckily haven't needed it in years. There are shelves for fuel and other things as well. Two like new spares. Florescent lighting that runs off the generator (which powers outlets throughout the trailer) and regular lights that work off the truck plug. I will include 7 fast fill gas jugs (22 seconds to empty!) and a few extra 5 gallon jugs. 4 tie downs for the car included too. And a wagon for getting stuff to and from the pits. It's really a loaded racing trailer, honed to our usage. Tools not included. Asking $6500 for the trailer with its goodies. No pics of the trailer right now, can add later. I will be very sad to see the trailer go, but there's no reason to keep it once the car is gone. Obviously I will not sell the trailer before the cars is sold. Bring a truck and buy both! If anything goes wrong at the race, I will negotiate a discount for the repair. Contact me at Surferjer@comcast.net. Or ping me here.
  24. Edit: WE ARE FULL. Thanks everyone, we'll see you there! Looking for qualified driver to fill two stints in the VIR 24 hour race plus Friday practice. We race an NB Miata to the best of our ability. The strategy is competitive, the lap times are not. PM for further details.
  25. Hi Guys, Miata is in need of a new engine. We are looking to buy a junkyard motor, but it got me thinking about a winter project to freshen up a motor. My question is this. I don't believe you can change valve springs, and certainly not cams. Can you change other parts on the 2x rule. For instance can you go to a forged piston? Can you use ARP head studs. They are cheaper than the stock Miata head bolts. Not looking for max power, but I am looking for max durability. This is my first Miata rebuild. I'm reading the forums, but any advice would be appreciated. Thanks Brad
