  1. Let me start by introducing myself: My name is Brian, but I am more commonly known among my friends and co-workers as Scribe. I have been lurking around these forums for about two years now, but never felt the unrelenting urge to post much. Some of you may have met me (although I probably did not introduce myself) at various races in the Eastern and Central regions. I have been crewing and occasionally driving for @Hi_Im_Will's GWR team since the Chumpcar race at Gingerman in 2015. Some might say I'm the mastermind behind the race strategy that got GWR on the podium at the Eastern Region Chumpionship last year. Others might say that I'm just the guy who hangs out in GWR's pit that stares at Race Monitor too much. Either way, I'm a big fan of Chumpcar and I have decided to start my own team and build my own car. Understanding how much work (and money) it takes to build a competitive Chumpcar, I've enlisted the help of one of my friends from college who just so happens to live about a mile away from me. Together we formed ScribeWorks Motorsport and began looking for the car we wanted to build. We decided to build something a little more obscure than GWR's tried and true E30. I could just tell you what we are building, but I'd rather see if you guys can guess it. Here is your hint: Good luck! P.S. @Hi_Im_Will and @Jamie, don't spoil it!

  3. Well, bought turbo 87 rx. Supposedly been raced. No stock oil injector, no stock fan, lots of tubes running to intakes, some small device that is supposed to boost performance. How can I determine what’s on it, and any warning lights going off in you guys’ heads that would help a 70 yr. old noob to the rotary world? Thanks so much

  5. Hi Chumps, Looking to run a 97 Civic Ex. According to the rules, it is a 375pt car, which gives us some room to upgrade. I'm not 100% familiar with the rules yet, so I thought I would ask here. I'm a newbie, so please be patient. Questions: The car I'm looking to buy has some work done to it. It has a coilover kit and camber plates. Do these fall in the 2x rule? The car has an aftermarket exhaust. Are they allowed? What is the point penalty for adding a turbo kit? Thanks!

  7. Team Failcar is looking for new members! We've spent the past year with two core team members and an assortment of rental drivers, and would like to add a couple more people who are able to commit to more than just one race weekend at a time. We are located in Chicago, IL, and are racing a 1985 Saab 900 Turbo. We expect to participate mainly in races around the Midwest during the 2013 season, and might consider some farther away races if things are going well. Currently, we are building a new Saab 900 Turbo race car which we hope to have ready for Road America in April. We would like to expand to multiple race cars in the future as well. You would be expected to pay your share of entry fees, parts, and supplies – most likely $600-$1,000 per race, depending on broken parts, etc. We also ask that you be able to commit some time to working on the building/upkeep of the car and preparations for each race. You don’t have to be made of time (bonus points if you are), but it’s proved to be a lot of work for two people. Anyone who wants to just engineer/wrench is welcome too.
