  1. Let me start by introducing myself: My name is Brian, but I am more commonly known among my friends and co-workers as Scribe. I have been lurking around these forums for about two years now, but never felt the unrelenting urge to post much. Some of you may have met me (although I probably did not introduce myself) at various races in the Eastern and Central regions. I have been crewing and occasionally driving for @Hi_Im_Will's GWR team since the Chumpcar race at Gingerman in 2015. Some might say I'm the mastermind behind the race strategy that got GWR on the podium at the Eastern Region Chumpionship last year. Others might say that I'm just the guy who hangs out in GWR's pit that stares at Race Monitor too much. Either way, I'm a big fan of Chumpcar and I have decided to start my own team and build my own car. Understanding how much work (and money) it takes to build a competitive Chumpcar, I've enlisted the help of one of my friends from college who just so happens to live about a mile away from me. Together we formed ScribeWorks Motorsport and began looking for the car we wanted to build. We decided to build something a little more obscure than GWR's tried and true E30. I could just tell you what we are building, but I'd rather see if you guys can guess it. Here is your hint: Good luck! P.S. @Hi_Im_Will and @Jamie, don't spoil it!
  2. Hey all, I've got to move in about a week and need to get rid of the chump that my team ran last season. Link to the post is below. Make me an offer, as I need to offload it asap! Turbo setup and extra wheels/ parts included. Hit me up with any questions. Call or text me at 727-255-3408! https://sacramento.craigslist.org/cto/d/1988-rx-7-16l-miata-engine/6573627105.html Thanks, Sergio
  3. Well, bought turbo 87 rx. Supposedly been raced. No stock oil injector, no stock fan, lots of tubes running to intakes, some small device that is supposed to boost performance. How can I determine what’s on it, and any warning lights going off in you guys’ heads that would help a 70 yr. old noob to the rotary world? Thanks so much
  4. 1997 Mazda Miata Track Car (not street legal), just received as a trade-in on another track car. The previous owner originally kept the car at Laguna Seca CA to use as a weekend track car. The car is equipped with the following: Stock Miata engine but upgraded with a Flyin’ Miata Turbo (with intercooler) with 10 lb boost rated at 250HP rear wheels dyno verified (previous owner assure me that he has eliminated the common overheat problem with Turbos!) Aluminum oversized radiator Monte Carlo bar for frame stiffening 6 speed upgraded Miata transmission 410 rearend set up for track use (top speed at 125mph) Ultra Shield race seat/Sparco harness for the driver with added passenger’s seating for passenger/instructor Toyo Proxes 205/50ZR15’s (plenty of tread left) mounted on Team Dynamics alloy wheels Flyin’ Miata coilovers Ground Control rollbar Momo detachable steering wheel Power windows Power mirrors Power steering Upgraded Blue Hawk brake pads All lighting in tact If you’re looking for an inexpensive weekend track car or for more serious competition, this car is a pleasure to drive (and a swift kick in the pants!). Needs a few items to run Chump (full roll cage; fire safety system; etc). For a viewing appointment, please contact John Haigler at Haigler Motors, Inc. in Tyler, Texas team member of PullMyFingaRacing #168 1968 Mustang Coupe. I can be reached at 903-258-2591 for calls or text and jchaigler@gmail.com for email inquiries.
  5. Hi Chumps, Looking to run a 97 Civic Ex. According to the rules, it is a 375pt car, which gives us some room to upgrade. I'm not 100% familiar with the rules yet, so I thought I would ask here. I'm a newbie, so please be patient. Questions: The car I'm looking to buy has some work done to it. It has a coilover kit and camber plates. Do these fall in the 2x rule? The car has an aftermarket exhaust. Are they allowed? What is the point penalty for adding a turbo kit? Thanks!

  7. Team Failcar is looking for new members! We've spent the past year with two core team members and an assortment of rental drivers, and would like to add a couple more people who are able to commit to more than just one race weekend at a time. We are located in Chicago, IL, and are racing a 1985 Saab 900 Turbo. We expect to participate mainly in races around the Midwest during the 2013 season, and might consider some farther away races if things are going well. Currently, we are building a new Saab 900 Turbo race car which we hope to have ready for Road America in April. We would like to expand to multiple race cars in the future as well. You would be expected to pay your share of entry fees, parts, and supplies – most likely $600-$1,000 per race, depending on broken parts, etc. We also ask that you be able to commit some time to working on the building/upkeep of the car and preparations for each race. You don’t have to be made of time (bonus points if you are), but it’s proved to be a lot of work for two people. Anyone who wants to just engineer/wrench is welcome too. Reply, PM or email teamfailcar@gmail.com if you’re interested or have questions!
