parid Posted June 29, 2010 Report Share Posted June 29, 2010 The transponders fly over a loop in the road that acts like an antenna. There is a radio connected to the timing computer that picks this signal up and registers it in the software. The hits/strength/noise columns have to do with signal quality monitoring for these signals that get picked up by the timing computer. Guest Champ Posted June 30, 2010 Report Share Posted June 30, 2010 Vertical, as close to the ground as possible with clear sight line to the pavement.This usually means mounting it to the underside of the car, or cutting a decent sized hole in your floor.
