Contact RSm for sponsorship and marketing opportunities. One race or One season! Want to drive for RSm? Our seats are usually sold out for the year as we plan our races around available drivers. But sometimes we need that one fast guy to finish off the team for a certain event. We do require all drivers to own and wear a head and neck device, and we require at least MR2 or Porsche 911 wheel to wheel racing experience due to the handling complexity of racing the RSm MR2. Hint... the car wants to kill you whenever you think you have a handle on it and relax. Mid-engine racers will know what we are talking about. If you meet the above criteria, email your racing resume to wdstrongjr@racingstrong.com. MRE
Crap Crap Crap. I was hoping to be the fast MR2 at NCM in June. Looks like I need to add 2 cylinders or a turbo now...
LAMR2
Why not both?
SnapOversteer
From experience, turbos and endurance racing (especially the shutting off the car during fueling part) don't mix, makes for an interesting glow at night though.
Administrators Bill Strong Posted March 24, 2016 Author Administrators Report Share Posted March 24, 2016 heat. how do you get rid of the heat?
Technical Advisory Committee mcoppola Posted March 24, 2016 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted March 24, 2016 Heat is power/energy. You want to keep it all in, especially around rubber parts, bearings, etc. I would recommend removing all of your ductwork, etc. C'mon Bill, you ought to know that!
enginerd
2 hours ago, Bill Strong said: heat. how do you get rid of the heat? Thermal energy recovery system. Turbo cooled by water lines, water boils, steam turns turbine, turbine powers electric generator, electric generator provides electricity to recharge battery and run ignition / coolsuit / gopro / dataz / etc., alternator no longer needed, remove alternator from car to save weight and free up 1 HP to the wheels.

From my experience turbos especially for endurance racing make for great reliability on a Honda. We never had a problem shutting the car off during a race.

I suggest directing the heat towards the hubs on the MR2.... the air vortex from the wheels should dissipate it well, don't you think?
