TAJracing45
First of all, I would like to thank John, Lloyd, Cathy, David, corner workers and all the rest of the CCWS staff and track staff. Everyone was working (and sweating) their tails off today. (and we're only halfway done)It has been a great event so far! Hot as hell, but a great event. I am very sorry that my team caused the TWO red flags!! Our little oil line problem is now solved since we removed the oil cooler so we won't have that problem again! There are some well prepared cars out there! The competition is extremely close and we look forward to doing it all again tomorrow!

Boy Blunder
First Post - hope this works. Our car is still undergoing some much needed mechanical updating and wasn't quite ready for RR. My wife and I made the trip as spectators on Saturday. Holy Cow was it hot!! Lot's of great racing and fellowship going on. As expected, John and his gang were doing a fantastic job. 1- 91 - Boom Pow Suprprise - Probe (fast - unique sounding side exhaust)2 - 48 - Broke Nissan Racing - Nissan (fast - solid looking car on the track)3- 5- Catch me if you can - Integra? (consistent - great Crap-Can paint job)4 - 8 - GFY Motorsports5 - 90 - Swedelittel pigs - Saab - (always a strong competitor)6 - 66 - Satans Wankel - Mazda - RX-7 (Geez 666 - 6th place in #66 - These guys are serious !!)7 - 2 - Blitzen Benz - (Nothing spectacular - just pumping out the laps)8 - 17 - Darwin Wrenching (this car looked fast at times and then not so fast - not sure if car/problems or drivers)9 - 20 - Domestic Violence10 - 9 - Phillips tire/A&D Conc11 -46 - TAJ Escort serviceSome cars that usually do well were a little further down the pack24-11 - Fed Ex Racing28 - 65 - USS EnterpriseThe Team RifRaf TR-6 is holding the #14 position. Team BoomPowSurprise completed 219 laps at the end of the day Sat.The #14 Supra that Stewart-Haus racing ran at VIR was doing just as badly at Roebling - 8 laps at the end of Sat. and parked in the shade. Hope to hear final results soon.

cpmskinny
Congrats to everyone who made it through the weekend. It was a blazing one out there. Wished the Jetta could would have showed up to play, evidently she had some different plans for us throughout the course of the weekend. All in all, great weekend of racing for everyone involved. So for any naysayers out there, the Jetta received 10 penalty laps by the way. Yes, they do penalize Chumpsters as well. Although I will say that one word pretty much sums up the weekend for me (in my best possible Spanish accent).......GRACIAS

cpmskinny
I sure did Rusty. Good job on that one. You big genius you...(ask Eric). He thinks you are smarter than the average bear. You just may be after getting that diesel to run that good both days. Good luck to you guys at Sebring.
TAJracing45
Waking up waaay too early after a long day yesterday. The Boom Pow Suprise team Probe is a great little car. Their drivers drove smooth and clean all weekend and put on an absolte clinic out there. Good job guys! Congrats! We had an unscheduled tire change and a black flag Sunday that knocked us off the podium, since we were behind 3rd by only 20 seconds. Oh well, we'll get them next time.Congrats to the Florida teams for kicking donkey out there as well! Moneyshot, Catch Me If You Can, Domestic Violence, and Mike's team (forgot the team name, SORRY) and us! Sebring is one month away and we're going to bring our A-Game!! coolcars44
the race was great i was driving in the 18 rotary rotards car.we were fast but had to keep stoping every 30 minutes for fuel.just a fuel pickup issue in the fuel cell that will be fixed before our next race.but yeah i think everyone out there drove good.chumps are the best
TAJracing45
Results are up on Mylaps.com. Just search for chumpcar and RR will be on the top. One more thing...the one lap grudge match was a great idea for the pole on Sunday! Very cool! Thanks again John and the gang. Make no mistake about it...the USS Enterprise is a FAAAST car. The winning Probe ran a 1:28.009 where the USS Enterprise ran a 1:28.380. I just wish it had a better result. Good job guys!
Race Control chisek Posted August 23, 2010 Race Control Report Share Posted August 23, 2010 One more thing...the one lap grudge match was a great idea for the pole on Sunday! Very cool! It's stuff like this that makes the weekends even more entertaining and fun. Great idea! And you are absolutely correct. Never underestimate the Enterprise, because next time you look in your mirror it's going to be on your bumper!
cpmskinny
The grudge race was an amazing idea from the start. It is the small stuff, like the staff entertaining this idea then following through with it, that sets ChumpCar apart from the others. Good call guys. Looking forward to seeing more grudge races in the future. Maybe the Jetta vs. Camaro one time would be cool too, as long as we could do a rolling start. Guest Kevin Andrews
For our first race we had was a blast. Proved a lot of people wrong that a TR-6 could last. Just got to get the vaperlock issue taken care and we should be good for the next one. It was a thrill racing with the Benz team. Looked like we put on a show. Had fun and looking forward to the next.
porsche4me
For the people not there, could you explain and give a blow-by-blow description of the grudge match for Sunday???
cpmskinny
I'd like to know more about the Diesel entry.....mdg Rusty may not give too much of that information out. Most of his work comes out of Area 51.
Race Control chisek Posted August 23, 2010 Race Control Report Share Posted August 23, 2010 For the people not there, could you explain and give a blow-by-blow description of the grudge match for Sunday???For a double 7 enduro, ChumpCar inverts the field for Sunday's starting order (first is last, last is first). The Enterprise and the Camaro tied for last on Saturday, and after a good number of beers at the hotel Saturday night the mob ruled that a grudge race was the solution for pole position. Sunday morning the two cars lined up and after a smokey burnout made one lap head to head to determine the pole. The two cars came out of the final turn side by side until the Enterprise turned on the afterburners and drove to a 2 car length victory over the Camaro. After a cooldown lap the rest of the field rolled out of pit lane behind us and the race began.Best idea ever.
Jeff G 78
So based on the inverted field rules, did the loser of the grudge match get to start on the poll?
dweymer
The red 944 "lucky" made it the finish both races, albeit a few minor glitches. We had a fuel issue on sunday causing us much frustration as we could get along side in a turn, but the the engine would stumble and the other car would pull away.Great racing, especially with the white island tire car, not sure what car; but man they were drifting that car, and had great track awareness!!More to follow as I review the videos As said by others, another great race put on by the Chump team.
