nissanguy38501
Been looking but can't find the thread about the appeal process. Can anyone help me out?

Ron_e
Car too slow? What vehicle and what is your base points? Do your research, make your case, send it off to Mike and Phil.
nissanguy38501
No, our base value is 500 points and we got dinged for the header. Problem here is the VPI index on the ChumpCar website and what our car got valued at don't seem to match, since the VPI list only shows the Sentra SER and does NOT show the SER Spec V. When the car went through tech on Thursday Phil pulled the valuation up on his phone, but I can't find it when I go to the website. I think everyone was expecting a factory race car when we brought it, but it's not super fast - just about as fast as most everything else in "C". I'll get my appeal written up this week and present it to the board... doing my research right now.
thewheelerZ
Mike is really good to get back to you on email. My advice is to give him as much info as possible. He may not use it all, but make it easy for him to value your car. Curb weight, race weight, power, power adders, fuel tank, suspension type, trans info, factory options, etc.
Kentite
Attach links to all the published information. In our case I used cars with similar power to weight and drive configurations that had lower values as examples when reevaluating our VPI
Ron_e
If your header is stock OE then it should not have any points. If you are saying your valuation should change based off of one result that is probably not going to fly. Well, maybe it would if Adrian Newey set your car up, your drivers included Fernando, Lewis, Nico, and Sebastian, and you had 100% run time and you finished in the bottom third it might. Maybe that track doesn't favour your car. Edited February 7, 2017 by Ron_e
ElectricGold
What value are you arguing the Spec-V should be out of interest? In real terms, there is at least 60 points worth of differences just looking at what the point values are for strut bar, helical torsen LSD (diff swap) and 6 speed gearbox (gearbox swap) that differentiate the Spec-V from a base SE-r, and that's without accounting for the extra 10hp you get (for what that's worth). If the performance we put in at RA over the weekend is any indication, the Spec V is comparable with, if not a litlle slower, than the E30 and E36 platforms as far as speed and handling. The SER is valued at 400 points, so even if you were to add the 60 points you mention, that still puts the Spec V in at 460 points, and with a header that makes it 485 points. So even with the differences you mention, this should still not be a 500 base point car.

Certainly seems unreasonable given the differences between that and the regular SE-r for it to be applied 100 points blindly. I would expect it to be as quick if not quicker than a 'stock' M50 E36 given the initial curb weight difference. Any idea what your race weight is, merely curious? I honestly haven't weighed the car... really didn't get a chance as i was strapped for time due to work, etc.
