Possible to diff 2016 rules with 2017 rules? Changelog?

Recommended Posts

Hi

Is there a way to only show the differences between the 2016 and 2017 rules?

I don't want to manually compare the two, seems like it is easy to miss something that way.

The 2017 BCR changelog only show changes from previous 2017 rules, not from 2016 (that is the interesting part)

There is a huge amount which changed from 2016 to 2017... it is several pages shorter... sections have moved... the car points table has been moved to a separate document... etc. etc.

Honestly, your time would be better spent reading through the 2017 rules very carefully, 3 times, rather than trying to compare the two documents.

[edit] - and to directly answer your actual question, I don't know of any way to show the differences, and I doubt anyone documented all the specific changes.

Of course it's shorter. It automatically began shorter when they removed the value tables.

And there are plenty of ways to run a diff on the two documents.

To help out the OP, could you share one of those ways to run a diff on the two documents or are you just going from thread to thread looking for ways to betch and complain?
