oddcarnut
It was a great event and fun to watch from the hot seat of our new tinker and from the sidelines. overall I was pleased by everyone's driving, a lot cleaner than I've sometimes seen in the past. While the new pig wasn't trouble free, or terribly fast in it's first trip to a track and first time driven more than 10 miles, we had fun and learned a lot about the car. Gearbox issues sent us to the garage for a while, returning with a 2 speed, which then became an occasional 1 speed, so my smarter, than I wife, Lorri, decided to stop the heap rather than break stuff. (It's really wonderful having a motor-head spouse!) But mission accomplished, all drivers got seat time, including our rookie son, Jackson, his cousin, Clayton, and Lorri who was returning to the track for the first time since a serious road car accident in 2013. Much to my delight, she went from extremely nervous to talking about what we need to do to improve the Volvo before the next outing Special thanks to Chris White and the Chandler School kids for letting me run a stint in the Mustang, that was fun too. And super thanks to all those that worked the event so the rest of us lunatics could go play. Ken
wneace
Hillbilly Racing just wanted to thank Mike and all the chumpcar staff and volunteers. Special thanks to our pit mates, Ratchet Racing and WJH Racing. They had a bunch of teammates and were always giving us help. Very easy going bunch and looked like they were having a great time. Thanks again, Hillbilly

Racer28173
The Skidmark car is the old Ronald's car. Perry from that team is one of the Skidmark drivers, but I don't know who else joined him. Chip and Wyatt, who were with Ronald, were driving with Huggins (an existing team). They joined Chris and Robert Huggins. Hope that clarifies.

HGHarpen17
Pocket Deuces Racing (little red Miata) had a great time out there. Not a great showing for us in terms of race position, but we knew that going into it with only 2 drivers and no pit crew. We considered it a tune-up event for our car after the engine rebuild and moving to Megasquirt. We also have about 20 more racer excuses lined up to use at need. At any rate, this was our first race on the East as a team (or part of the team) after being Chump West guys for a couple years, and we had a blast. You guys field big crowds out here, and the racing was nice and clean. We got a small bump to the rear in T4, but nothing our driver couldn't correct before getting too out of shape and only very minor damage (plastic panel on the car). I wish we had been able to participate more in the night driving, but our right-side headlight ended up falling down around 7:45 PM and our lap times dropped precipitously and we bowed out to avoid being a moving chicane out there. Thanks to all the race organizers; we'll be back for more with our full crew next time! To all the teams we had great battles with, thanks for a good time! If the #216 car is out there, we look forward to seeing you guys after your engine rebuild. We had some great close battling out there! -Henry
HGHarpen17
Also, I almost forgot to give a shout-out to Bad Brains Racing for their support from the next pit stall throughout the day. We appreciated the help as we struggled through a two-man operation, and we'll be glad to pay it back to you someday (but we're hoping you're never down to 2 members so that it's necessary!). -Henry
Hugh Jass
Team Hugh Jass (blue Miata) wants to thank the officials, volunteers and other racers for a great weekend. We really enjoyed our debut outing. The racing was close but much less hectic than we imagined it would be from watching footage of past race in car cams and viewing from the pit lane as volunteers. We ended up retiring the car because our driver was suffering from fumes in the cabin from a torn shifter boot. Luckily we didn't have any major damage, so we will make a few small improvements to our car and prep it for the big race in August. We are a new team with inexperienced drivers, so if anyone has constructive criticism for us, reach out to me. I want to race hard but I know we are not as fast the higher horsepower cars, so we were just trying to stay out of the way.
