Daytona is upon us and there is a lot of things you need to know. Follow along so you don't miss anything! Daytona is always an awesome weekend. It's warm in Florida, we're in a gorgeous facility and there are over 100 cars to race against. Perfect! But Daytona is a big place and we've got a lot of people to fit inside there. Follow along for some instructions that should make your trip smooth. Trailer Drop Off - For those arriving early, Daytona will allow you to drop your trailers inside Gate 40 on Thursday night. This is a secure area. Gates - The gate at the Turn 1 tunnel will open at Noon on Friday. I will have someone out there to help Daytona security with waivers and to make sure you enter in an orderly fashion. RV Camping - Small change this year, we're not using the NASCAR Driver/Owner lot. Instead, we're using the Lake Lloyd Shores RV spots. This is the asphalt area to your right as you drive through the infield, along lake Lloyd. These spots have full power and water hookups and we have plenty of them. Someone will be stationed at the gate to collect your $75 fee for weekend camping there. Paddock Parking - Once again we will be using both the Blue and Yellow garages. This means you can park your trailer/rig in front of your garage. For those of you who did not request a garage, you can setup your paddock in the Yellow paddock along the fence from Yellow garage 44 to the Sunoco fuel pumps. Blue paddock map. https://tinyurl.com/mbnhjmt Yellow paddock map. https://tinyurl.com/l5hs3zj Tech - We tech'd 89 cars at Road Atlanta and 63 more at VIR, but we'll still have over 80 to tech at Daytona. That's a lot of work for 6 hours! We'll have two tech lines running, one in Blue paddock and one in Yellow paddock. Make sure you bring a filled out tech sheet with you to speed the process up. Check those cage welds too. That's the #1 reason we fail cars. Registration - 1/3 of you still have not paid for this event. If you are coming, you need to log in and pay before you arrive. While you are logged in, check your driver roster for accuracy. Make any corrections ahead of time. If you are paid with the correct drivers, check-in is a 3 minute process. If you are not coming (work issue, car issue, etc), email me to let me know you are giving up your spot. I have a large wait list of teams trying to get in and they will happily buy your spot. Pit Setup - Pit road will be open from 5pm to 6pm Friday for you to setup your pit spot. Pit road will reopen Saturday morning at 7am. Welcome Party - Once you are all settled in to your garage and your team is checked in for the race, come join us for a welcome party hosted by Grassroots Motorsports from 5-8pm. Pizza and drinks will be provided. The address is 915 Ridgewood Ave. Holly Hill, FL 32117, which is about 5 miles from the speedway. The ChumpCar staff will stop by after tech & registration to say hello. Board Meeting - Once again the ChumpCar Board of Directors will be meeting at Daytona on Friday March 30th to go over club business and your suggestions (petitions). The meeting is open to any member so if you'd like to sit in and/or participate, wander over to the Boardwalk Club (on Lake Lloyd) after you're checked in. The meeting runs from 3pm to 5pm. Garage Assignments - Reserved a garage? Here are your assignments. https://tinyurl.com/nx4ezxk Forgot to reserve one? I still have garages available in Yellow paddock. Pit Assignments - Your requests are getting tougher and tougher to meet, but I think I met them all. Here are your pit assignments. https://tinyurl.com/m7avvse Want me to make a change? You're out of your mind..... ChumpCast Live! - ChumpCast Live! will be broadcasting the Daytona race live at www.ChumpCar.com/live. Spread the link to families and friends so that they can enjoy the sight of you running your car at speed around the famous Daytona International Speedway. Bill Strong is also asking that team captain's email their driver order so that we can stay up to date as to who is in the car. If you are running a live camera, please let us know. We have some changes to how we want you to connect to RaceCast that we will email you. Email bill.strong@chumpcar.com. If you are running an in-car live camera/cell phone, please register and enter the Daytona event at https://live.racecast.me/event/58bed6442549cddf6a3a4340 A reminder: read through and print out the Supplemental Rules for this event here. https://www.chumpcar.com/register/supplementalrules/315.pdf If you have any questions about registration, please contact Katherine Miller here. katherine.miller@chumpcar.com Any other questions you can contact me here. michael.chisek@chumpcar.com We're looking forward to seeing you all in Florida!
