Live in-car RaceCasters! We have a change in applications we would like you to use.

If you are using the Cerevo LiveShell 2, your settings stay the same. log into your racecast account and go to settings... https://live.racecast.me/setup/liveshell . You still input the settings via the Cerevo web app.

Teradek VidiU settings stay the same. https://live.racecast.me/setup/teradek-vidiu

Now here is where the changes are. If you are using a cell phone type camera, where in the past you were using the Wowza GoCoder, we need you to stop using it. It causes some issues in our broadcast. Over the past few weeks we have been testing the Larix Broadcaster app. It works very well. Please log into your racecast account, and download the app and set it up. Unfortunately it is a manual setup process. But it is easy when you follow the setup instructions. https://live.racecast.me/setup/larix

This will help ChumpCast bring you uninterrupted race coverage.
Thanks!
Bill Strong and Paulie Veltum.

Total PITA to set up, but it seems to work.

What is the benefit of Larix over GoCoder? Fewer crashes?

It's kind of nice that you have more control over bit rates and resolutions, as well as sound quality.

Any recommendations for settings to use for VGA In-Car feeds, 720p Settings and 1080p?

What kind of data consumption per hour can we expect for each?

It was less crashes. If you ever saw my pit feeds, I would crash a lot since they did some update. we were getting the same in the cars.
Data should be the same. Please set to 720. no need for 1080 or 4k as racecast and chumpcast only transmit in 720.if data is an issue, use 640

Bill,

Downloaded Larix app and set up on my phone and it works. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it to Daytona so I went to set up someone else's phone that is making the trip.  After setting it up the same way that I did on my phone I get "RaceCast : Authentication error. Please check stream credentials"  Any advice?

Thanks,
Matt

I had the same thing happen as Bill and I were trying to get mine to work when he first decided to make the switch.   You will have to get the racecast generated password from Bill.  It's not the password you use to login.
