Any SE Teams heading to Watkins Glen in May

We are a Tampa based team (Team Jacky Ickx) heading to Watkins Glen for the May race weekend.  Looking at options for transporting our cars to NY.  One option is with a fellow Chump with a Semi type enclosed hauler.  He could transport our cars, but also has room for a couple others.  Anyone in the area thinking about going to a bucket list track that might be interested.  Cost varies depending on how many cars are in the hauler, so we are putting out feelers to see if anyone is interested.  For us it appears  cheaper than making the haul with our 2 cars.

I can't commit to it this year as my schedule is kind of whacky (or it would be too last-minute to plan well), but I'd definitely be interested in doing this in the future with you guys. Share a transporter and resources at the track for some of these distance races.

Far-away races that I have no interest in towing, but I am interested in taking the Camaro to are (in order): WGI, Road America, COTA

Next year our long distance from home race will be Road America.

Cant say if interested(yes but trying to be real)  a few questions that pertain to anyone interested:

How many cars can the rig haul?

When will a decision need to be made?

Approximate cost if rig is filled to capacity?

Ed...... do it.

We are interested, but I have an 8 day work commitment that hits squarely in the middle of COTA and WG.  The 8 days start Monday after COTA so gotta be there that day unless I can really pull strings to not be there the first day. Too bad it's not Fri/Sat like last year. For WG I would think we would have to be on the road Wednesday morning but I have to be at work Tuesday and maybe beyond if things go awry.  This WG hauling option might help with the situation, but meeting up to load creates just as many logistics problems so not sure it would work either. Dammit.

I know it is a ways out, but seriously, lets remember to get together when the schedule comes out in November.

Edit: @Team Infiniti Ed this includes you too!

Yep, will do

For the rest of ya Clark / CWag27 has the cost and time frames for loading, he'll get in touch with ya'll with the finer points ASAP.

But I think we'd need to know what's what at least a month out from the race, so ya got a few weeks to think about it.

Up to 5 cars total possible depending on other support gear loaded.  We are working with an estimate of $850-900 per car with 4 cars expected.  We would have to lock things down within the next 2 weeks and loading would be determined individually.  This includes transportation fuel and tolls, and transport driver's accommodations for the race weekend.

We have a semi rig and could do something like this in the future. We have had 4 cars and two pit carts in the trailer before, but the fueling gear was shared between the cars so the supplies were less per car than normal. I will get with David and see if he is interested for later this year or maybe try and make some future plans for next year.
