Segeltorp
Heading back home to VA now. Great race for us with the Accord Wagon - we lost a few laps in the beginning when Peter happened to break the rear view mirror, but after that it was nothing but fuel and driver changes. From our view it seemed like a very clean race (with the unfortunate exception when the Civic got punted) but I don't think we saw much that we didn't like. (Hope we weren't too much of a nuisance ourselves!) First impressions were definitely "crikey, this track is slippery!" I think we perhaps added too much respect to the braking zones, but when I didn't it got a bit more exciting than I wanted. Overall a great day - big thanks to organizers, volunteers and competitors! ChampCar Staff DuncanDana Posted April 25, 2017 Author ChampCar Staff Report Share Posted April 25, 2017 So I noticed in the other thread some people mentioned the Race Hero and Race Monitor broadcasts went in and out during the race The track did not have a wifi signal available, everything we did all weekend was done using hotspots on our phones. Every time I had to use my phone for something I had to take the live broadcasts off line. I can't wait to see my data usage numbers for Monday... I know how much the racers at the track rely on those broadcasts, and I know how those of you who aren't there like to keep track of the race. So trust me, I do everything I can to keep those broadcasts up and running. Thanks again to all the volunteers, to the Eastern Staff, to the track staff at Mid-Ohio and certainly the racers. Hope you all enjoyed your race! Dana
ABR-Glen
How many people remember when we used to get paper printouts of the standings posted every hour or so? Pretty spoiled if we can't live with the app going down for a few minutes.

Yep, I remember at BIR in 2011 TBR starting with like 7 MOV laps, and I run up to check the standing sheet after the first hour and they are only 3 laps behind us. I remember just thinking...........UGHHHHH.... we are screwed.
Kentite
Had a little issue between 8&9. Somehow managed to limp it into the pits and we got it on the trailer.
Kentite
Backing it off the trailer was much more of an issue

Ha, yes, that should make for some interesting handling!

Farran05
We really enjoyed our first trip to Mid-Ohio, it was a fun track to drive. Unfortunately a small hole in the bottom of the block ended our run with an hour to go. Congrats to the winner and podium finishers and thanks to the ChumpCar staff!
NukeProof
Great time at mid Ohio. Our car ran all day, but ran out of gas on the parade lap after the checker. The track crew thought that was great and nicely towed us to pit lane (see picture with gas can). Thanks to the chumpcar staff for another great event! I think this is a most impressive pit strategy - I need to get some lessons from you guys for the next event! It was a pleasure having you as neighbors, and fun racing you on the track! Philip944
The Car Ramrod team had an awesome time at our Chumpcar debut. We went out around hour four after our cam angle sensor went out. We enjoyed sharing the track with everyone and were extremely impressed with the on track etiquette by all teams and the welcoming attitude of all of the teams, drivers and Chumpcar staff. The bug bit hard and we haven't stopped watching video, reviewing our lap times and pit strategy and plotting the path to the next event. Thanks to all that made Monday possible and we look forward to seeing you all at NCM!
