Administrators Bill Strong Posted May 16, 2017 Author Administrators Report Share Posted May 16, 2017 Hello Team Captains and Drivers! It's 2017 and we are ready to start round 10 of the season! If you have not completed your registration for Watkins Glen International, or still owe race fees, please visit the website and complete your entry. Also a lot of you haven't renewed your membership for 2017, so please visit the website and take care of your annual membership fees. We have leaped into the future and we will no longer be mailing physical membership cards. All membership numbers were be electronically emailed to you so that you can keep the information handy on your phone. We rolled out our new registration system a few months ago, but some of you may be unaware of it. Our new system makes it easier for you to go in and edit your drivers, fees, and entry information. Because you have more access to your account, it is nearly impossible for registration to assist you in making changes to your team entry at the track. We apologize for the initial inconvenience, but making these changes will greatly accelerate the check in process. Some things that we will no longer do for you: (So the process does not take 30-minutes for each check-in): 1. Add a new team to an event. 2. Add a new driver to the ChumpCar website. 3. Add a new driver to your team roster for the event. 4. Pay your annual Membership Fees. The good news is that we no longer lock the registration system out a week in advance. You can go into your team entry anytime you want and edit your team and car information as well as make all payments. From here on out, you should NOT come to registration until you have reviewed your team entry and verified that ALL driver and payment information is correct. We have A LOT of teams signed up for this race and they all want to get through registration as quickly as possible. So please be courteous and take care of everything online before you come to the registration table. If you have any issues with credits and payments specifically related to this event's entry, please email michael.chisek@chumpcar.com (I recommend CCing andrea.chisek@chumpcar.com as well), so we can get your payment settled prior to the race weekend. We are working all the time to improve the quality of our product and your overall Chump experience. Please contact me if you have any questions or problems with your online entry and I will be happy to help you. Let's go racing!!! theblue
Hey Bill, thanks for posting all this. Would it be possible for you to tag which cars are EC in the above list? Also, are they charging for guess passes, the sups don't say? Edited May 17, 2017 by theblue
Administrators Bill Strong Posted May 17, 2017 Author Administrators Report Share Posted May 17, 2017 We won't have all of the classes until the official tech is done on the Friday before the race. Cost is $10 to get into the race for visitors to watch. Pit passes are $20 for the weekend.
Administrators Bill Strong Posted May 17, 2017 Author Administrators Report Share Posted May 17, 2017 Oh, and WGI is strict about ages. NO ONE UNDER 18 ALLOWED ON PIT LANE. New York law.

Members riche30
Would it be ok for me to mention that I'll be at the track representing MotorSportMedia for the event? Event photo packages are available for purchase at MSMtrackdays.com http://www.msmtrackdays.com/new-products/chumpcar-sebring-may-2017 Thanks, Rich Edited May 17, 2017 by riche30

Members riche30
Ignore the fact that the web address says Sebring. Boss re-used an old link to set up the new event.
DEE DEE
On 5/17/2017 at 9:53 AM, theblue said: That's my favorite rule. You can be in the racecar, but not the pits. LOL Sorta true. The track has a standard policy that no one under the age of 18 is allowed to compete in any series. The exception is a court order of emancipation from the state or country of the minor provided to New York State for consideration. All this is so a minor can execute contracts in NYS such as waivers/releases of liability and to compromise claims. So unless you have all this at 18 yrs old you don't drive or enter pits. And you really need your own lawyer at your expense, the track does not get involved they just want the legal form on file. Gearhead_42
Facebook post says "drop your trailer in Lot 3 which is located at the top of the hill across from the ticket office." For the directionally impaired, where is that relative to the Gate 2 entrance we always use? It's not marked on the map in the post... DEE DEE
Drive past gate 2 and it is the next left. Actually it's right across from the registration building big open field. You really can'y miss it. Edited May 21, 2017 by DEE DEE

Racer28173
Wow! That is a lot of cars. You guys have fun and stay off of the Armco! I will hopefully get time to tune in for the broadcast but my weekend away-from-the-kids time is likely to get allocated to those "chumps" going round and round in Indiana..... djsteviec
The supplement says no power in the pits. There are outlets and circuit breakers in the pits. Will those be locked and not available for use, or is that incorrect in the supplement?

Sounds like, from the live cast, they went 3 wide splitting a slower car with the 2nd place car and the slower car moved over and spun them on the front straight. Now, that is a least 3rd hand and I heard it on the internet. What ever happened it sucks.
