Overnight info for Pittsburgh event

Hi-ya.  We're planning on making it out to Pittsburgh in October.  None of us has been to that track before, internet reveals conflicting info and so am looking for some advice.

The Supplemental pack states:  Self-contained RV camping is allowed Friday & Saturday night.  Does that mean no tent-camping?  Some NASCAR tracks have RV rentals that deliver an RV to the track for you.  That saved our butt in NH last year.  Any good contacts for this here?  Or does everyone who doesn't have their own RV crash at a local hotel?

Thanks

Hi NewbernD - after doing Pittsburgh for a few years it is safe to say that weather can be anything but predictable. If you are not lucking out like me who has a team member living in Pittsburgh, I'd suggest that hotels might be a better option than tents...

PS - very much welcome, Pittsburgh is a lot of fun! What car will you bring? Any way to recognize you so we can come over to say Hi once you get there?

Thanks for the thoughts.  Given the fact that our last year's October race was cold and wet in NH, I am trying to plan ahead.  Wasn't able to locate an RV delivered to the track.  May end up in a hotel, or tents depending on the forecast.

Sure.. look us up.  We're bringing an e30.  In lemons theatrics, we have a motorized monkey that gyrates on top of the car.  The car is painted sort of like a football.  So we are a bunch of "monkeys f*ckng a football."  I expect to pull the monkey off of the roof though.. he behaves more like a parachute than a spoiler.

Is this a 15 hour race, split into 2 days. Normally when the title is 8+7 it is, but the schedule implies that it is separate races on Sat and Sunday.

If if we arrive at the track on Thursday night, towing our car with a RV, can we park somewhere overnight?

2 races.  1 8 hours, 1 7 hours.

The track MAY be open on Thursday night.  However, there is plenty of room on the driveway leading in for several RV's.

If you want somewhere level Thursday night there is also an old movie theater about 3 miles from the track with a fairly level parking area.
