smessaert
We're putting a glass rear window back in our car (Honda Accord - 4DR) and I've been looking to see what film other people have bought? Any recommendations on what others have bought would be appreciated.

smessaert
I looked on the 3M site but don't know which film is acceptable or if there are other brands that are an option. Has anyone bought film?
MichaelPal
I got this: BDF S4MC Window Film Security and Safety Clear 4 Mil (24in X 14ft) https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00FRLI2PC/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_9HGzzbF8YYHA9 but I'm using it to prevent scratching on my lexan. Goes on nice and easy. Don't buy the install kit. Just use a spray bottle with water and a couple drops of soap. I had no problems installing it other than it trying to stick to itself when peeling the backing off.

I just installed it a month ago, have not run the car yet, I have a two-day track day on Shenandoah this weekend so I will let you know on Monday! Front is glass; sides+rear is lexan with film on the outside.

Zimo
Does the film have to be a specific thickness? 3M lists from 4mil to 14mil for their safety film. I wanted to use some leftover vvivid clear paint protection film which is 6mil.
