Snorman
We won B-class and finished 17th overall! We know it's not an overall. And we know it's not C-class, but when we got this car in April we knew what we needed to do to win the class and...well...we did it. There were a couple of hiccups...6 laps into the race one of our drivers got into a bit of ruckus entering Bishop. I witnessed the ruckus from the KSR 300Z, it appeared to be a racing incident in close quarters 3-cars wide into Bishop. The contact pulled a hard power steering line loose and we repaired and broke out the Gorilla tape for the body damage. Another driver didn't do so well at night, and it threw an extra fuel stop into our evening when we replaced him in the car. Other than that we stayed clean and ran full 2-hour stints. With the exception of the last hour, renters drove the car and maintained solid lap times and kept the car on-track. We will make a few improvements and be back at Sebring in December then Road Atlanta in February. Thanks to all the Chump staff and volunteers for another great race! BeastZ06
Congrats on the class win! I was trying hard the last stint to catch you guys after I noticed we made up a few laps around 9:30-10pm.
Team Infiniti
I was the lucky one to "catch" all of your P/S fluid, glad that is all it was, there was a HUGE plume of smoke from the right front wheel under braking, will try and find some video. Yeah, I saw it from the KSR Z. Since I was in another car, I don't have all the details, but I 'think' our driver stayed on-track after the contact for a lap or two. When we got him back in we fixed the line, which runs in front of the right wheel from the factory. We'll fix that routing so it doesn't happen again. S. For some reason, Mazda decided that inside the wheel well outside of the frame rail was a great spot to run the return line. The contact pulled the hard line and flexible line apart. It was a simple fix we got to do under yellow. We will be changing that for the next race. Edited September 25, 2017 by Snake

That little evening glitch with one of our drivers cost us 2-3 of the laps we had on the Neon. It screwed up what had been a solid pit strategy all race. It also put Alex in the car for the last hour. S.

Your welcome Congrats on your first outing success. Is the 407 still on the forum? Check the vids section later...

He's fast and has lots of Sebring seat time, but this was his first W2W race. Funny you say that about the caution...he was behind me and a few times I slowed down to try to get him up next to me to no avail, lol. I noticed smoke from the RF, but it appeared under braking and I thought maybe a tire was rubbing and it wasn't consistent (at least from what I saw in the 300's mirror). Not sure about the 407. We split off from that team a couple of months ago. We're all still friends, but we are now running separate teams and we are on the verge of buying a 2nd car for InActiv. Thanks for looking out for our guy out there. Much appreciated! S. Edited September 24, 2017 by Snorman

He was on the radio with us complaining of power steering loss and we were preparing for him to come in. 407 i don't think is on the forums anymore. Ditch the power steering, gut the rack! Drives way better without. Nice result fellas. Congrats!

I was trying hard the last stint to catch you guys after I noticed we made up a few laps around 9:30-10pm. I was in the car for the last hour of the race, just to make sure you didnt catch us I strung together a great last stint with one really bad headlight and one pointed to the heavens. I remember catching and passing you in the last 30 mins and I knew we were fine, about 15 mins later i was getting a odd clunk in the front end so i backed off and slowed the car down to make sure it finished. You went by in 17 on the very last lap but i knew it didn't matter at that point. Great running with you guys that Neon is awesome and I've been trying to convince the guys to make our second car a 1st gen Neon. The stock 626 headlights with some better bulbs (plus our accident) made the headlights completely worthless. I was still able to get our fastest lap of the day in that time but it was like driving blind. I will work on a whole new headlight setup with the blinding LEDs that everyone else has.
