Convex side view mirrors

These are what I used. Because you have dual plane adjustability in the mounts, plus the L bracket on the mirror you can get them pointed just about anywhere you need them. Way more versatile than the Longacre ones.

whoa, those brackets are awesome....and CHEAP! Thanks for that link @mhr650

I went the expensive route, but I think both were purchased trackside for a couple different reasons.  I actually might pull the PS off and replace with what MHR posted above.  The longacre mirrors are small and a larger 5" mirror would be better on that side.

I've tried the longacre version in two different cars and it was a fail in both - thanks for posting a more versatile solution

5" round convex truck mirror from Summit Racing, $8.00

Those are essentially what I ended up getting.

I liked them, but visibility was not as good as with the regular mirrors.

It is hard to see somebody that is catching you, but not right on you.  Like there is basically a blind spot a few car lengths directly behind....  Not sure how to solve that right now.

Get the Joes mirrors. More expensive but smaller and more sight of view. Your rear view is big enough to see a lot.  You used smaller mirrors in my car and never had a problem.

Just drive faster, then you don't have to worry about someone catching you ...   ;)

That's what I did.  I think I was passed by 5 cars total all weekend.  The RVA car and troxel racing had the nerve to pass me as I was spinning in turn 1!

I bet if that BMW we were chasing down during Pitt Sprints didn't have mirrors this would not have happened.  (lesson I wish that driver had learned, you can have good useful mirrors, but don't drive in them).

Also, pictures show the Joe's mirror I used on Thelma and transferred to Eliza because I like how well it worked.

I love that sequence!  Both cars ran away to race another day.

I still don't know what higher power stopped my car from embedding itself in yours.

Roxy and Thelma had fun at those sprints.

Rip Thelma.
