Awesome car and awesome group of guys.  We had some good battles at Laguna and wish we could have raced hard against each other to see who the better team was!  This is a well built car.

Thanks!  Need to get back to Laguna soon.  Such an awesome place.

Good car with nice folks selling it!

I had the pleasure of racing against these guys at The Glen when they finished in the top five each day.  Sorry to hear that they are heading to another series.  Although it does improve my team's chances...

@MBros27-1 does this car come in under 500 points?

GLWS!

With the 2017 rules the car comes in at 507 points.  Not sure if there will be any changes to the 2018 rules.

There are no changes which affect the TCV of this particular car and swap.

Actually there are almost no changes at all from 2017 rule book to 2018. Not sure what game MoparBoyy is playing here.

except the change of 'per corner' instead of 'per component'  ;)

So a set of control arms or any 'set' of something is now double the points.

Ah yes, changes which are completely irrelevant to the TCV of the car being sold in this thread.

is it?  they didn't list a tech sheet and didn't list everything done to the car, so how is anyone supposed to know?

E30 + M52 engine (https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BMW_M52) + https://chumpcar.com/vpi/index.php = 507

Therefore, the only point-adding modification on the car is the engine swap.

No, a set (or pair) of anything always meant more than one component. The wording was changed because apparently some folks didn't understand, or chose to rule lawyer the word component.

A pair of springs or a pair of shocks have always been charged the point value listed per corner. Why would any other suspension part that is needed on both sides be considered as a single component? Even if the wording remained "per component", I don't see how anyone could misconstrue a pair of parts as being 1 component.

What other "huge changes" in the rules are you speaking of?

That is correct, just the engine swap.  Looks like the car will remain at 507 points for 2018.  The car is very competitive, even with the extra points.

ahh, as we dont race a BMW, us non-german car owners have no idea.

So then why try and post false information? You're just buggering up the sellers thread. And now you have me roped in to it.

Those guys are a good group. They were quick to offer advice while we sat in line at VIR this summer with a car that would not start.

when our car was tech'd for 2017 we have a set of aftermarket rear lateral arms, which we claimed as 20 points.  We were told in tech that the lateral arms are only 10 points total because its per component not per corner.

we have never run into any of this with our old car because it was a 500 point car stock and we ran it that way.

Interesting.

So I guess my aftermarket sway bars count as a single component now.

before we go and make any more misguided comments I will now direct everyone's attention back to the words in the rulebook:

Quote

- suspension component (not otherwise listed in this table), non-OE: 10 pts per corner
- sway-bar, non-OE: 20 pts each

Straight up fast car, pin your ears back and hold on through the corners.  If you can drive like these guys you are a podium contender, if you can't drive like these guys then ask one of them to come out, do a stint to lay down fast time, then coach you at your first race.

There, thread back on track.
