I hope you all are settling down for a nice quiet weekend at home with family for Christmas.  And since I know your cars are all ready to go for the race (Ha!), you should be able to watch all those Christmas classics from your recliner this weekend.  Read on to get the info to make your trip to Sebring a smooth one.

Gates - Gates open at noon on Thursday.

Paddock - The paddock is first come first served.

Tech - If you have not had your annual tech for 2017, bring your car through the tech line along with all your paperwork filled out.  Make sure you have read the rules.  Swap cars with no paperwork will likely be put in EC unless tech is in a good mood.  OR, if you would like to get a jump on 2018 (God knows we do), we will be doing 2018 tech at Sebring.  Avoid the lines at Road Atlanta!

Registration -
If you are already tech'd, bring your yellow logbook directly to registration.  Before you arrive, log in and check your driver roster for accuracy.  Make any corrections ahead of time.  If you are paid with the correct drivers, check-in is a 3 minute process.  If you are not coming (work issue, car issue, etc), email me to let me know you will not be there.

Novice School - 5pm, 2nd floor of scoring tower.

Pit Assignments - Here are your pit assignments.

Garages - Since we have the same number of teams as garages, everyone team gets a free garage for this event.  Merry Christmas.

Lights - The sun is going to set before the checker flag.  What does this mean?  Bring headlights.  You won't need them for very long, but don't let driving blind cost you a podium!

Doughnuts - Once again Krispy Kreme is sponsoring this event for us.  In case you didn't eat too much at Christmas, grab a couple of doughnuts at the race.  I don't recommend eating them before you get into the car, but do as you like.

Friday Night - Teams can sleep in the paddock on Friday night if they wish.  All teams must be out by 10am Saturday morning.

A reminder: read through and print out the Supplemental Rules for this event here.

If you have any questions about registration, please contact Katherine Miller here.  Any other questions you can contact me here.

We're looking forward to seeing you all in FL!

I will. My last day at my day job is this Friday. after that I will have 24 hours a day that I can do ChampCar work.

Congratulations Bill, on retiring/leaving your current job!

I am at a crossroads right now regarding whether or not I can afford to do the same!

I envy you, and also look forward to seeing you expand on the job you've been doing as Media and Marketing Director.

Hey Bill (or other Champcar staff) ... is there a way to put the class on the entry list going forward for every race?  I am not as edumucated to assume which cars are in which class. If not, that's cool, but I know myself and probably others would like to see what they are up against before going in. Thanks!

If y'all don't know who Todd Buras (Glazed and Confused) is ... he is one of the best guys in the paddock and one of the best drivers on the track.  This whole year he has been helping me fine tune my driving and we have had a blast going wheel to wheel at the SCCA Sebring Turkey trot last month.  He will not hesitate to help you with anything! Thanks Todd for the donuts to soak up the alcohol from the night before :D

Does the paddock or just the garages need to be cleared by 10PM? I'm sure plenty of people intend to camp overnight after the race.

This info is usually published in the supplemental rules posted above:

Will it be posted before the race for those of us that want to tech at Sebring for 2018??

He said it would.   It would help speed the tech process up if people can fill everything out ahead of time.   I'm guessing quite a few teams will tech here for 2018.  God knows I hate sitting at Rd. Atlanta for hours in 30* weather in the tech line.   Avoiding that this year for sure.

right, we've always run 93 octane in the midwest but since we brought the car to Florida a few weeks ago it pings pretty bad on 93. I've noticed its pretty common in florida to see a 100 octane leaded pump at a lot of gas stations.

Try some Rec 90 fuel.
