Final Email to teams

Well, this is it, the one you've been waiting for! All you need to know about Daytona.

In here you will find your Pit Assignments, Dyno Information, Garage Assignments, Schedule etc.

Wait, Dyno info? That's right, we got a surprise for you...

First, as per usual, Please Please, read the Supplemental Rules Here. https://champcar.org/register/supplementalrules/339.pdf

Trailer Drops and Early Parking: You can drop trailers Thursday night in the parking area at the west side gate. This is also where you will enter Friday.

Friday Entry: Gates will open at 12:00. If you arrive early you can park in the lot there, but please do not block the gate area.

Paddock Setup: Once you enter head to your Paddock area. Blue Garages to the left, Yellow to the right. If you have a garage you get the parking slot across from your garage. And only that space, no spreading out.

If you did not rent a garage. There's still time and garages left. But if you did not rent one you can park in the spaces across from the open air garages at the far ends of the Blue and Yellow garages along the fence line. Blue Garage layouts are here.

If you rented a garage, your assignments are here.

Tech inspection for your car will be held in two places. For Blue garages in the center section listed as Scales in the diagram. For Yellow garages at the east end in the first open garages #45 and 74. Tech will open by 12:30 and run till 6:00pm. Please bring all paperwork for your car, properly completed, with you to Tech. After you complete tech, or if you have an annual 2018 Tech, you should head to.....

Registration: Registration will be in the Driver Meeting Room, right between the two garages, look for the banners. Registration will open around 12:30 and run through 6:00pm. Again, please have all your documentation in hand when you arrive.

Pit Lane Setup: Gates to pit lane will open at 1:00 and close at 6:00pm. Your pit stall assignments are here.

Campers: We will be using the camping area along Lake Loyd. Spaces are first-come-first-pick. We will have a staff member there to check you in. Spaces are $75 for the weekend.

Champ School formerly Novice school: 5:00pm in the Registration building. If you have never raced with ChampCar you must attend. If you haven't raced recently or you just want a quick refresher please come sit in, all are welcome.

So... Friday: Gates open 12:00noon
Tech and Registration 12:30 to 6:00
Champ / Novice School 5:00
Pit Setup 1:00 to 6:00
Garage locked down 8:00pm

Saturday: Gates open 6:00am
Pit Lane open 7:00am
Driver's meeting 8:00am
Roll Cars 8:45am
Green Flag 9:00am
Checkers 11:00pm
Awards 11:45pm
Garages locked down 1:00am

Sunday: 12:00 noon all participants out.

Safety Gear: We will conduct Gear Check at as many places as we can. Please bring all your gear, in good condition. Discovery Parts will be there with a mobile sales trailer so if you have something expired or un-serviceable you can expect to go buy a replacement.

Personal Cars in the Paddock: Don't. Got it? The paddock is crowded, there is plenty of parking to the east and west of the garages. Do not park your personal cars, friend's cars, visitor's cars, Ubers, or taxis in the paddock.

Guests: All persons at the event must be members of the ChampCar Endurance Series. Please check and if needed, update your membership before you arrive. One day memberships can be paid at the gate for $20 each. Please make sure any visitors you have coming are aware of this.

Need Fuel or going to the Prom?: The 500 Club is rented for a Prom again. If you go out for fuel in the late afternoon expect to wait in the security line when you return. The Deputies working the Prom could care less about our race. They are working the Prom, they will check every vehicle, it will take time, plan accordingly.

Too old for Prom but still want to have a good time? Our friends at Grassroots Motorsports are hosting a social at their World Headquarters. Pizza and drinks for all!

5pm to 8pm Friday night.
915 Ridgewod Ave (US1)
Holly Hill, FL. 3217

Maxxis Tires will have their mobile rig on site. He will not have tires for sale, but he will have equipment to balance wheels and make minor repairs.

Our Event Sponsor, Marathon Coaches, will have a loaded brand new coach for you to drool over parked outside Registration. It will be open for you to walk through and explore. They will also have a second coach in the camping area, please stop by and check them out.

Wasn't there some mention of a Dyno?

Yes, yes there was. As a special bonus offer, we are going to have a Dyno available to test the cars at impound Saturday night!

Muletown Dyno will be on site Friday and Saturday to test and weigh cars. $75 for 3-pulls, and $50 for each additional 3-pull run. $15 for a 4-corner digital weight. This is what you'll get. See image.

A reminder:
read through and print out the Supplemental Rules for this event. https://champcar.org/register/supplementalrules/339.pdf

If you have any questions about registration, please contact Katherine Miller katherine.miller@chumpcar.com. Any other questions you can contact me dana.morrison@champcar.org.

Travel safe, and we'll see you soon!

All the best -
Your ChampCar Staff

Welcome back Tuttle Motorsports!!

Since the burden of tech is on us the competitors, who knows these Nissan engines that can assist tech?

I doubt @scottyk is going to be at Daytona. @Team Infiniti maybe?

Awesome how persistent  Miata teams are.   What a race where the everyone is flat to the floor for like 4 miles a lap and top speeds are 40% above where we can get to?  Sure lets go.

Go Miata!  We will be here in Iowa getting ready for Road America..........hmmmm same sort of problem there............

Marathon does build some fine high end RV's.

I can't believe they are giving away a coach to the overall winner!

Wait, maybe I misread that....

2015 370 is entered?

99 Firebird noted... nice. LS car?

99 Camaro as well. I'm getting old. Sold those things new. Now they're race car fodder.

The GF's 98 with V6 would take 305 80's cars on East Wash back in the day. Hope yours runs well. Good luck.

The Chevy contingent is growing, but I  won't lie. Pulling for the Maser.

Those guys are gluttons for punishment, yet I bet it's a great drive.

Ours runs as well as a bone stock 3.8L with headers can run...The issue is weight...still have some points to play with though...No where close to the power to weight of the class leaders (Pinkies, Ickx, etc.)  But It'll only be our 4th race, so we're a work in progress.  We finish races though...
