SomeGuyInHunterdon
Hello all. I am building my first Champ car (not my first race car). I am confused by the terminology in the rules for door bar spacing. The rule says 3.2.3.1. The spacing between the fore and aft terminal ends of all door bars (including X-design) must include a separation of no less than six inches of open space when measured at the centerline of each bar. I understand 6 inches of open space until I read "when measured at the centerline of each bar" part. What does the centerline have to do with it? Is it 6 inches open space or 6 inches from center of top door bar to center of bottom door bar? Can someone clarify this for me? Thanks. Ian
Distance from centerline of bottom bar, to centerline of top tube must be greater than, or equal to 6". like studs in a house are 16" on center, so must your door bars be +6 on center.
