We're just a couple of days away from the ChampCar Endurance Series at Harris Hill Raceway.  With 41 cars registered we need you to pay close attention to the trailer restrictions as we have very limited paddock space. Please read carefully!
Final Info
  • Read the supplemental rules, found here
  • In order to help Harris Hill Raceway (H2R) be good neighbors, we must follow their sound regulations very carefully. ChampCar's rule of 92dB @ 50 feet WOT might be pushing the limits. H2R's limit is 85dB at the property line and we have agreed that 92dB trackside will be acceptable. If you think your car will be pushing the sound limits, please plan accordingly! H2R will be checking dB levels on Friday during tech and the test day so there will be time to make modifications if necessary.
  • Please make sure you read the trailer policy below and in the supplemental rules.
  • You must check in with H2R staff before you park in the paddock. This will help us ensure we are making the most of the limited room we have available.
  • H2R is holding a practice day the Friday before the event from 12pm- 6pm. Sign up at the Clubhouse on Friday, the cost is $200/team.
  • You must go through tech inspection or have already completed your 2018 annual tech before you can go to registration.  Please make sure you bring your log book to registration.
  • ALL drivers must have a current membership or your team will NOT be able to complete registration. They can sign up for their membership by logging in to their ChampCar account here. At the top of the page it will tell you if your membership is current if it is not, there is a link to complete your membership. Registration will no longer add drivers at the track. Team Captains must register all drivers before they come to registration. This can be done at any time before checking in at registration.
H2R Trailer Policy
Harris Hill Raceway (H2R) has a very tight paddock area, therefore H2R and ChampCar have implemented trailer size restrictions. Please take the time to look at the trailer restrictions for H2R located at the end of the supplemental rules. If your trailer is longer than 28' you will need to reserve one of eight spots available which are now SOLD OUT, they are $50 each payable to Harris Hill Raceway. We highly encourage you to bring smaller trailers if possible. You must check in with an H2R employee before you park your trailer. If you show up to H2R with a trailer larger than 28' and have not reserved a spot you will have to drop your trailer and bring in your equipment to the pit and paddock area with another vehicle. All fueling will still take place in the paddock area even if you rent one of the large trailer spots up the hill from the paddock for safety reasons.

Annual Tech for 2018

  • Tech will be held in the paddock area.
  • The complete rules along with the latest revisions are posted on the ChampCar web page here.
  • Remember you are responsible for declaring all modifications to your car.
  • You need to have someone knowledgeable with your car in case we have any questions.
  • Be sure to look up your Vehicle Performance Index (VPI) value before you arrive at tech inspection.
  • Be prepared to jack up your car and remove wheels.
  • Bring your log book if you've been issued one.
  • Bring your completed tech form, filled out legibly.(you'll need the second sheet for any powertrain swaps)    Tech Form  Swap Form
  • You should have an itemized list of all the non-exempt components you are declaring in tech.
If you have a 2018 tech sticker on your car and haven't changed anything there is no need to go through tech, but please make sure to bring your log book to registration.  Also, don't forget to have your gear annually checked for the 2018 season.
If you entered a transponder number while you were registering we assume you're bringing your own.  Please verify that you have entered the correct number or that you reserved a transponder if you're not supplying your own.

Supplemental Rules
Just a reminder, we need you to look at the supplemental rules for this event.  They can be found here
If you have questions about the race email me and I will respond ASAP. For questions about registration or payment process please contact Laura.

We're looking forward to seeing you all at Harris Hill Raceway!

Hey guys!

Make certain you have your paperwork for tech sorted out, both for the race podium cars and the new tech cars. In fact, if you are racing at Harris Hill, Make certain that all your tech paperwork is in order.
We have a new tech crew, and they follow that rule book to the teeeeeeeee. and the dot their eyes.

Review the rules and the VPI lists here.

Don't make a mistake that's easily fixed by knowing the rules.

Like using a 10 gallon fuel dump can?

Couldn't believe I heard that one on the Sebring broadcast.

@Bill Strong - nice job balancing you pit road reporter duties with pit marshal duties, too!!

"Visors DOWN!!"  "HEY, you can't use that can!!!"

Yes. that was pretty wild. Had to think for a minute about what a ten-gallon dump can looked like vs a five gallon. Turned their 5 minute stop into a ten minute stop as they had to transfer fuel.

Also. there will be inspections of your pit equipment.

10-pound fire bottle ABC, a gauge in the green. Dry chemical.
Fuel catch can
This is approved and recommended. Available at Walmart and Auto stores.

Turkey aluminum pans are not legal.

You will not be allowed to fuel unless you have the above sorted.

Hopefully this gives our Audi quattro a chance against the typically faster cars  🙂

Wow! A real quattro as in 4wd or whatever?

It's not that turbo audi that always blows up?

tip of the day: Test your windshield wipers.....we didn't last u-boat race at H2R.

Get this one:

With the swap weight adjusted to the highest non-convertible weight, the after-swap VPI is 320 points. 18.5 US gallons.

I think RVA Graphics has their Audi Quattro for sale

also it seems Bill Strong has gotten the gallon pounds thing backwards again .

A ten pound fire extinguisher is required while fueling  using only 5 gallon plastic jugs

Ours is a 1990 Audi 90 sedan with the naturally aspirated 20V engine.  It's slow but reliable (can you say that about an Audi?).
