Plum crazy
Just wondering if the Brainerd event is happening in 2019. Its not on the schedule as of now.
Technical Advisory Committee Andrew D Johnson Posted October 11, 2018 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted October 11, 2018 I hope an event can happen. I love racing at Brainerd.

Jer
I do not believe we are going back to Brainerd in 2019-attendance was not enough. Not closing the door on Brainerd in the future, but I believe the idea was to move that event around a bit in search of better attendance. We'll see what happens with Hastings in 2019. Another track we considered was Heartland Park. Sorry. Personally, I wished we raced at High Plains, where I'm going to test tomorrow (just outside Denver). Great track, but not enough attendance to justify a race there right now. Sadness

JDChristianson
Yes autobahn would be good again. A midwest Mini-series points challenge might be cool to try and bump attendance. Road America, Autobahn, Gingerman, Hastings, Heartland Park. Teams have to do 4 if the 5 to qualify. Just a thought

So so good for cars of our speed.

A driver can make such a big difference there. We took my son's VW Passat out there so I could work with him on line and got a point by from a Caymen S hahaha

enginerd
We raced it this year, love the track, but I was not going to come back next year. Gingerman and Indy will hopefully be on my schedule in 2019, kicking Brainerd out of the mix. Perhaps I will return in 2020 if on the schedule. BionicPhil
I'd be happy hitting Autobahn, as it is all of 12 miles from our race shop. Please? Anyone? Bueller?
gavro
Would also appreciate an Autobahn event.

You have to cross the track to get to the paddock and there is no bridge/tunnel, so not good for long (endurance) races.

I won an SCCA bracket enduro at Blackhawk in 2016 and the track was glorious for endurance racing.

How long was the race and how did they handle people crossing the track? Surprised you aren't cheerleader for Autobahn to be the Brainerd replacement. Looks like Lemons is going to try BIR this year, 3 endurance races there in one year may have been too many, but hopefully Champcar isn't left out when they try to get another date there in the future! Technical Advisory Committee Andrew D Johnson Posted December 12, 2018 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted December 12, 2018 The bracket enduro for SCCA was 4 hours iirc. I didn’t know lemons was going BIR. With them going BIR Autobahn and Gingerman, they have a great lineup in the Midwest. Champ puts on such great events, and I will still travel to run their events, but the local events for other series are very tempting.
Zauskycop
Problem with Blackhawk....you can only fit, reasonably, 15-20 pit spots on pit row...it IS crowded, and no room to double up...
