mcewena
Here's what happens when a Speed Racer cartoon fan grows up to design race cars: https://www.motorsport.com/formula-e/news/sims-leads-opening-day-of-formula-e-testing/3196136/?filters[article_type][0]=

JC_CRapshoot
While certainly Speed Racer in appearance, if my memory serves me correctly it does seem that they have incorporated CFD research F1 did years ago (like a decade) to improve the dirty air off of the rear wing. Not having the full width wing created a pocket for the following car. Sometimes breaking the mold can produce something great...or at least maybe better. Time will tell. JC_CRapshoot
Kind of begs the question...if we can accept the ugly halo for safety, then can we accept an ugly wing for great racing?
mcewena
In the previous generation of FE the wings were mostly decorative. Cars would lose their front/rear wing and maybe lose a second or so a lap.
