wvumtnbkr
Did the winning 500 pt car have a spoiler that is in the fpv section for 10 points?

Spoilers aren’t covered until 2019. Was not in the 2018 book by accidental omission. (But surely would have cost some amount of points?) wvumtnbkr
I've charged 10 pts for my airdam at every race this year. It's not listed either....

wvumtnbkr
Swaps were free at one time too. This is another one of those bull cookies interpretations.

Exactly correct. They cut the part of the trunk lid that runs down towards the bumper and flipped it over and welded it back into place as the “spoiler”. Great example of working with what you’ve got. Repurposed the original material from the car, and FREE to boot! Not sure if it really does anything, but it’s what this series was built upon. It's easily worth 3-5s a lap. 1

Was walking along, right there, as big chunks of blue/orange parts went flying, didn't see the cause/aftermath as it was thrash time for us as well. Looking @ the mr2 a couple hours later, even in a decent state of repair, it was obvious there was some major surgery involved in getting the wheels (and everything else) back on that thing. Got vid? My take is that they would have been faster without the spoiler as the car was pushing both days- so putting more down force on the rear didn't help with that handling issue. Without it, the car probably would have been better balanced.

No way, the advantage of flipping the trunk is worth at least 5 laps at AMP.
Jab31169
Came here looking for stories about amp and how a car made up 2 laps with some of the fastest drivers in the series , was promptly reminded why this forum sucks sometimes...

If you flip the trunk lid upside down, you don't need fast drivers to dominate. The car will be glued to the track. It will be on a rail. Probably 1,000# of force at 25 MPH.
Racer28173
Missed the broadcast this weekend. Can someone tell me approximately what time the big incident was so I can look for it in the replay? Looking at the results, I was wondering what happened to some of the cars that I expected to be at the front.

Looking at timing data, the next lap was a 5.18....pretty sure it was a pit road thing. That driver's next fastest lap is in the 1.38s, and the car looked capable of 1.36 if driven hard. Unless hidden turbo button.... 6.5 sec faster than prior day is the sort of thing i need Edited October 29, 2018 by Black Magic

ben 594
The Hot Rod Lincoln… had a positive weekend. It’s big… it corners poorly… it stops horribly… but it’ll roll down the straight. With 3100lbs of car we can’t be bothered with down force: gravity is all we need… Proving that aero doesn’t matter at AMP. I am going to go home and flip my truck lid… it’s in a pile of junk I don’t use: That should get me 8 seconds a lap I am missing. Honestly I have bigger fish to fry… I need to work on my mechanical grip… not my aero. Big fun Saturday. The Lincoln ran all 8 hours with a few slow pit stops that my new friends at Tuttle made fun of. We have a lot in common with a chicken with our heads cut off… the high schoolers next to us with chandler school did excellent pit stops while we were slow and unorganized. Sunday… The fuel pump died and we were the first car out of the race 30 mins in. Thank you everyone for a fun race weekend! I don’t remember doing anything dumb, so if you’re mad at the Lincoln my co-driver did it. 3
