Administrators Bill Strong Posted October 30, 2018 Administrators Report Share Posted October 30, 2018 Unfortunately, the answer is not in 2019. As you know, I live here in Central Virginia, and it would be awesome to have a race in my own backyard. We do have 3 VIR events and 1 at Charlotte. ross2004
We miss Summit Point being on the schedule, but I'd have to think long and hard about racing at Dominion. Unless things have changed since I was there a year or so ago on the kart track, the road course has some serious safety issues, IMO. I like summit point, but if you think it's safer than dominion.... I have seen multiple car write offs in the last couple of races there. ross2004
I don’t remember Summit having 6” drop offs/ditches along the edge of the track like I saw at Dominion. Maybe they did, but I don’t remember it. Edited October 31, 2018 by ross2004
Jer
If we went back to Shanandoah, I'd tow back from Denver for that one. What a great driver's track. That being said, the negatives are: 1) pit road kinda sucks; 2) close to VIR and we do well there. Wouldn't want to hurt attendance there; 3) not great attendance there last time. I've been trying to talk Mike into rotating an event around the area, like NJMP one year, Shanandoah one year, then maybe another area track. I will bring it up again but 2019 is set. TiredBirds
I didn't know Dominion was that bad. I have not been down there.

I'd like to run that in the NASCAR configuration... That would be a blast. Plus it is about 2 hours closer than VIR

That would be awesome. We have already used track days there for test and tunes.
