Chappy
Being racecast.me isn’t around any more, is everyone just doing YouTube live? Or are other services being used now? How do we link the video streamed above to the Champcar live cast? As far as camera go, it looks like the GoOro Hero7 Black has the ability to live stream, it also does have GPS and accelerometer, can you overlay both on the live stream, or is it video only? If only video for live stream, I might get the Yi4k for streaming as the cost is quite a bit lower. Thanks in advance for any info!
Snake
Most have gone to YouTube. Set up a channel you'll need 25 subscribers to livestream mobily. There is a section of the forum on streaming as well. https://forum.champcar.org/forum/63-champcarlive-video-stream/
ross2004
The 25 subscriber thing is gone, your account just needs to be "verified." All the means is clicking a button and waiting about 24 hours.

How long ago was the requirement dropped?

Based on a recent conversation with Bill, I don’t think they are using “3rd party” feeds anymore for the broadcasts. They are just using his setups. You could email him to confirm. We are constantly trying new things for the broadcast to make it better. One helpful tip: SEND MONEY!

No money, but here is something that Tiffany and I have discussed that I forgot to do at the last race. We had talked about walking the pit lane and asking teams to text Tiffany their driver order, anything going on with the car, etc. That way there is more information for you guys to cover in the broadcast. I'll try to remember this at Barber and Sebring.

Don't get me wrong as I LOVE stalking...to me it's like Hide & Seek for adults.
Administrators Bill Strong Posted November 8, 2018 Administrators Report Share Posted November 8, 2018 I have spent a billion dollars of my own money over the past three years working on reliable and good feeds. Most of the time failing. We finally have a good setup that we have been using over the past 4 races. Of course, that tech will most likely not work at the next four races! lol. Now we are working on tech for 2019/2020 that will take us close to broadcast quality shows. We keep an eye on your feeds and use them when we need them. If suddenly your car is in the top 5, we will abuse that cam.

Administrators Bill Strong Posted November 8, 2018 Administrators Report Share Posted November 8, 2018 yes. we have been using in on our custom streaming server. But... It does not yet work on YouTube. It is pretty sweet. But HVEC / h.265 needs more adoption out there. It was a big difference in how much data I used over a weekend. But there are major compatibility issues after its uploaded.
