ironworks
Is anyone running E85? Were building our car and Im thinking even though the car will use more fuel with e85 that running it could be beneficial. just looking for info. Team Infiniti
Personally have not heard of anyone, are you planning a podium or fun car?
Technical Advisory Committee Chris Huggins Posted November 12, 2018 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted November 12, 2018 You will get about 75% the fuel mileage with E85 based on my experience, and that is at the same *power* level. Turning up the boost and timing will make that number worse. On the east coast finding e85 stations can be hit-or-miss also. Good luck finding it in BFE Virginia or GA. TLDR: Its likely not a good idea in our fuel-capacity governed series. More energy density in your fuel is a good thing in our case.
ironworks
thanks! The car could have the ability to be a podium car if I had a better driver line up. Our Honda motor set up is known for having valve problems in the long haul so my train of thought was the cooler burning fuel could help keep the head temp down.
