Bluebandit48
I am curious if anyone is running a turbo car. If so, what size fuel tank do you have, and how long is your fuel window at a given track. Thanks in advance!

Google "turbo engine BSFC", and you should get a rough idea of how much worse the fuel situation is gonna be vs an na engine of the same power. With that and a power target we can give you a better idea of your fuel burn rate. The answer is probably gonna be terrible, but depends on what platform you choose as to if it is a problem.
mender
Typical is 10% more fuel for the same hp.
mhr650
One option that would be great for performance but not great on your wallet would be to race with 110 leaded race gas. With high octane you can reduce boost enrichment somewhat.

The Neon turbos ran fine on 93 and they pushed 220 w/o much modification. It is all dependent on your performance needs and what your car can accommodate. If 250hp is your goal but dropping a V6 is going to be tough then boosting a 4cyl might be the way to go. As mentioned you will go thru more gas so pick a car with a decent tank size. You can add 2gal per the rules w/ a cell.

My VW is a factory turbo, 9:1 compression. It makes 150hp on 91. I had to run it on 87 once. No problems but I noticed an appreciable reduction in fuel economy until I was able to get some good high octane back in it. The advantage to the race gas is you can run leaner and more aggressive timing without fear of detonation. And running as lean as possible in this series is important. Technical Advisory Committee Andrew D Johnson Posted November 21, 2018 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted November 21, 2018 Do most people in this series run close lambda for fuel mileage reasons?

I was running about 13.5-13.8:1 at WOT; typical for best power is around 12.5:1 depending on the engine.

Technical Advisory Committee Andrew D Johnson Posted November 21, 2018 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted November 21, 2018 Close to lambda*, I wasn’t talking about open loop vs closed loop o2 feedback loops.
Mopar 4 Life
I am running a turbo car now. We have enough fuel. But car is closely shaped like a brick. If it was more pointy it would probably do better in the fuel dept.
