Alchemy Autosport
For all of you who run the RS4's that are now out for the season, what tires are you going to run instead? I have heard the Rival S 1.5 is pretty good but its a lot more money. I would run the Maxxis but I hear they are slower and dont last as long. What are peoples thoughts? 225/45-
jakks
1010 still shows they have RS-4’s but they are more expensive than they were a few weeks ago. Also, look at Nexen’s

jakks
@elongoran runs them. I raced with them when I was in the ZMW. Not the greatest grip I thought but they had great tread wear and life. A lot of it maybe car and driver dependent.

It was about 65F out and we couldnt crack 130F with the pyrometer and saw 110-120F across the tire usually
Rodger Coan-Burningham
This year's + version of the Falken Azeni (the RT615K+) is much better than the old 615K. The older version went away and you had to back off a couple of laps and they would come back in. The new + model doesn't do that. They seem to last ok too. They aren't RS4's, but they are pretty good. Edited December 21, 2018 by Burningham
Jer
I'd go back to the Star specs....but i don't need tires until April.

Technical Advisory Committee Chris Huggins Posted December 21, 2018 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted December 21, 2018 Kook will only sell them in large quantities (40 foot conex full) TR orders multiples of conexes, kook produces enough to meet that order, then changes the line over to make some other tire. Thats why its only possible to get these things from certain distributors. Only the distributors with the capital and footprint to handle such a large volume in one order can resell them.
IPF Racing
We should all go in on a conex then and split them up at a race.... TireRack does seem to have plenty of 17s in stock though.
espog
How about the original rivals. Jackson motorsports group has some in stock.

I run 17x9s so 255 is probably the way to go. Once set already lasts us 2 whole race weekends with the 245s. Maybe we can stretch to 3... krackerx
Thinking of going with 255s what is everyone’s opinion on putting them on 9 inch wheels.
Rodger Coan-Burningham
Better on 9”. What car?
krackerx
240sx with 3 liter swap. We currently run 245s on 9 inch of rim and we r happy with the feel but I really like the rs4s they seem to have a more positive feel to them over the d3s. wvumtnbkr
I always use the rule that 245 on 10s, 225 on 9. 205 on 8s. Seems to give the best feel and gives us the best wear and even tire temps. Any tire wider than this seems to just kinda scrub the edges.
