TeamPandaCRX
Hey all, as the title suggests, I just moved to Frederick Maryland and have caught the racing bug being so close to Summit, specifically the wheel to wheel kind. I've been heavily researching how to get into wheel to wheel but I need some hands on guidance. Are there any local teams out here that would be interested in helping me get my feet wet? I am mainly interested in driving but I know what the pointy end of a screwdriver is used for and can turn a wrench fairly well, so being utilized in the pits and garage would be a plus. Most of my automotive experience lies in making Hondas go "fast" in a straight line for 1320 feet but that was a few years ago. Seeing as its what I've known, it is probably going to be the route I take when I buy/build my own car, but I am open to learning and gaining experience with all that racing has to offer.
Team Infiniti
Welcome! Best thing you can do is attend/volunteer @ a race. Saying that, picking a car you are comfy with is important but I will give you a tip, keep the hp down a little as you are going to need reliability and most importantly, good enough MPG to get 2 hr run-time out your tank. Shortest cliff notes ever but its a start. There will be more people speaking up soon.

Racer28173
Go hang out with Michael - great guy and you will learn a lot about what it takes to get a car going. There are lots of threads you can look through to get advice - go digging and you will find at least 20 pages of good advice. Welcome to Champ! Oh, and welcome to the forum, home of lots of great info and even more endless debates that illustrate why racing should have an off-season. djsteviec
@TeamPandaCRX, I started out drag racing and spent a lot of time and a TON of money getting my car ready for 1/4mi racing. I did the drivetrain install and a custom wiring harness in my buddies car and he gave me a seat for a Lemons event. Once I did a road course track and W2W, I never looked back! There is no better adrenaline rush than W2W racing!! BTW, I see CR-X in your name. I have 2 JDM D15B 3 stage VTEC engines and trans for sale. 1 engine and trans are new JDM stock spares, the other came out of my parted out CR-X and has an M-Factory LSD in the trans. LMK if interested.
