Can someone point me to the VPI of a Mustang Cobra

Or swap it for a common engine with similar horsepower and have the horsepower with only 25 pts more than an e30.  Still have enough pts for front and rear aero.

Springs are essentially free. Shocks are upgradeable, brakes are upgradeable, wheel spacers are free.  Bushings are free. Slotting the shock towers is free.

What else would you need points for?

Yeah. Wait, where did you find that it’s 425?

The vpi sheet posted to the windshield.

There were some questions I had from looking at the car in impound and things on the vpi sheet.  I was not a team captain this race though.

It was raced with header, camber plates, and a rear sway bar at 490pts.

Do you need to be a team captain to ask questions or even formally protest?  I thought that was removed.

Not implying anything about the car or team, just curious about the remark.

5.5. PROTESTS

5.5.1. Any Team Captain has the ability to file a written protest with the Event Director or Tech Chief regarding any car in the event. Protests MUST be submitted to the event’s Event Director or Tech Chief after the start of the race and prior the close of Post-Race Impound. Protest forms are available in the “Rules” section of the ChampCar website.

Well, there ya go.

Why have this language in the rules?  What purpose does it fulfill?  Are there too many protests in the field now?

Maybe to stop any Tom, Dick, or Harry from wondering up and causing problems at impound.  Making it team captains only is probable meant to keep a lid on things.  In reality, its probably a rule trying to solve a problem that doesn't really exist.  Wonder where all the "The shortest rulebook is the best rulebook" people were on that one?
