What happened to your ChampCar today? - 2019

Recommended Posts

I have to solve my brake issue and change the clutch before I race the Miata again.  That starts this weekend.

Charlotte was not a smooth race, thankfully, our sponsor U Pull & Pay West Palm Beach, was there to help with their only matching Infiniti....Still in disbelief it was the right color!

Suspension/trunk/taillights happen Saturday.

25 min later

15 min after that.

A little off topic, it isn't what happened to the race car today, it is that I am finally getting a worthy tow vehicle.  Dealer accepted my offer, just need to get it from Phoenix to Wisconsin.

AZ truck, lots of miles,  8.1 Vortec with Allison trans.   One step closer to an enclosed trailer I hope.

Horse traded some junk for a derelict dirt track car cage to fortify the still running crash a rama cop car, heading back to the dirt in a practice/trainer car for a team members son (also for some of us and our friends to enjoy)

How is this Champ related? Within a year, the son of teammate will drive his own ChampCar ChampTruck

10:00am

11:30 Yeah its upside down, don't care enough to fix

1:30 Actual Champ content.

Sorry, no vid

Back to the scrapyard to pull the entire RF suspension, most of the LF, both lower rear arms, the trunk and taillights from the same Infiniti that we have been violating since thursday.

Are they bad or show any signs of weakness or is this just post superspeedway maintenance?

Post superspeedway maintenance. I don't want to break at Indy so they all are getting replaced.

Little bit of cosmetic, bit of weight savings, and a lot of simplification.

I ripped the crushed windshield out because it was popping glass all over the garage.

I went to the doctor to confirm....   2 broken ribs.  Fun!

Now I need to strip the stuff out of the car that is worth keeping...  some electrical, the gauges, somehow, possibly the engine and trans...

Gonna be a long time til it gets stripped due to the ribs.

Not sure?

If it was regarding the fire extinguisher stuff, I had that experience at gingerman...

In other words, fire extinguishers are extremely corrosive and will efff up some wiring.

If something other than that....  nope.

Take it easy.  Broken ribs suck. The only thing you can do is rest.  And try not to sneeze or cough

Yes

Not sure what kind of dry powder gingerman uses, but charlotte uses purple K, it will be in your best interest to toss most all the electrical system, that stuff destroys like nothing I have ever seen i.e. the nissan scanner plug transferred green funk from car to car

I know!  Unfortunately we don't own any of the fields around us and my wife wouldn't like our yard being tore up ;)

She can swim in that pond while you drive your rally car around her.
