2019 Official Road America Spring Double 8-Hour Enduros

Recommended Posts

This week's weather forecast is shockingly close to what happened last year as far as timing and severity (although the heaviest snow is predicted to be farther East in Southern Minnesota).

Hopefully the track being clear in time for the scheduled race weekend last year will at least give some confidence that last years reaction was too conservative if they are faced with a similar situation this year.

My Dad was so upset about the race being cancelled last year he went to the track anyway, had a drink at Siebkens and ate dinner at the paddock club.

I was minutes away from leaving with my trailer when I heard.  ugh

Let’s talk about the weather...

It has not snowed in central Wisconsin for at least 24 hours.

So we have that going for us. Which is nice.

Gunga Galunga

I think the forecast could be Chris’ fault.

It’ll be fine with rain and 50’s the following week. Our car seems to handle quite well in the rain😀

I don't know what's worse-2.5 year old brand new radials, or new RS4s.

It’s 70 here today, used snow tires are selling for cheap you could always grab a set of those.

Sorry bout that.

It was 73 today and we are preparing for snow accumulation Thursday. It’s Wisconsin’s spring time!

1 week until loading and the engine hasn’t been run since October, and the rest of the to-do list is longer than my... well, it’s long!

Right now it says Friday rain and 47, Saturday partly sunny and 49.  Could be worse.  Could be better.  Let's hope 4 straight days of rain next week ends a day early.

The 4 days of rain will be nice to clear the snow falling right now and through the weekend!

I'll take the heat and humidity here in Alabama.  Now if you can just keep that stuff up there for Barber in November!

What's the word from locals on the weather?  Weather Underground is showing a pretty crappy Thursday, mildly crappy Friday, and rather glorious Saturday.  Dark Sky app is not so pessimistic on Friday.

This will be our first time running these 200TW tires in the rain.  We have three different types of tires with us (still experimenting).  Birdgestone RE-71, Hankook RS-4, and Dunlop Direzza Z3.  Any comments, based on your experience with these tires in wet conditions?  My guess is that the RE-71 will be good, Z3 okay, and RS-4 fairly awful.  Just a guess though.

This is correct... almost.

RE-71 will be good, Z3 okay, and RS-4 mindnumbingly  awful.
