T-PAP
We tripped and fell into this series thanks to a friend, who introduced us to the John Allen Special guys. Thanks to Rich and those guys for getting us pointed in the right direction. This will be our first time racing, so the goal is just to finish (with the car in one piece ideally) and not hit anyone else's cars. This is a family project involving my dad, brother, and me. We picked up a 1990 Miata from Virginia that the guy posted for sale as an "ITA Miata", however, after seeing it, it was clear the SCCA would have made him put it back on the trailer and go home if he ever tried to race it. When we got it, it had a .040" over 1.6, a ton of missing parts (likely stripped for no other reason except because racecar), and a long list of hidden issues. We spent all of 2018 building a stock 1.6 for it, replacing all the missing parts, and getting it ready for Road Atlanta next month. hotchkis23
Looks good! Word of advice. take the 25pts for a diff swap if you haven't already! We did 3 years trying to run the 1.6 diff and got to where we could swap one in ~30 minutes while it was hot........only blew up 7 of them, and they were not junk yard unopened units. T-PAP
Yep we already have a 4.1 Torsen in it. The 1.6 diff is sitting on my garage floor where it belongs! Edited January 17, 2019 by T-PAP
cowboys647
Looking good guys! We’ll be at RA as well and have quite a few 1.6/1.8 spares in case you guys need anything. Just look for the Miata with the swan wang.

Because as we all know, looking good is WAY more important than going fast
T-PAP
After 4 years of the 1.6 car we've decided to build a new car for 2023. We're way behind the scheduled plan of debuting it at Road Atlanta so our new target is AMP. The hope is to be more competitive with this car. I'll try to keep this updated as we progress if anyone is interested. For now, here's a look at this little crystal the day we got it.

The cage, suspension and brakes are done. Engine is built and sitting in it's home but nothing is hooked back up yet. And that gross valve cover needs to be painted haha.

I haven't figured out exactly what to do with that one after the NB is done. Probably something stupid like turbo it and then promptly sign the divorce papers I'll be served.
