2019 ChampCar Sim Series - Round 3, VIR South - 2/20/2019, 2/27/2019

We're at that early point in the season where rounds are coming thick and fast. Barely an opportunity to take a breath before we're back over to the East Coast for a new challenge, this time the short but deceptively challenging VIR South configuration. This round has a special place in my heart as it was the scene of our first race as a ChampCar team in 2017, and my first ever wheel-to-wheel laps in a racecar.

Please keep in mind that this is a short track and pitlane, and as such we are limited to 34 cars for the race. That should still ensure lots of traffic, but be aware that you may have to register early to be assured a spot on the grid. If you don't happen to make it, never fear - this is why we have a drop week system in place. Good luck all, and see you in Turn 1!

Just over an hour until the east-coast championship session opens. Reminder that the pit lane at VIR South is limited to 34 stalls, so registering early is encouraged if you want to be assured of a spot.

Regarding weather/time of day settings this evening - I have decided to keep them consistent with the setup of the practice round for the sake of transparency. If we'd had a second practice round I would have amended them to force the intended day-night transition, but I'd rather not change things around just before a points race.

Good luck, and be sure to share the broadcast around!

A money shift ended my evening. Sure was fun though!  Hopefully I'm at least providing fodder for the broadcast crew! Because I'm certainly not providing anything else that's useful 😀

Sorry for the contact in T1, Chris. Totally my fault.

Looking forward to Daytona.

Kinda felt like a had a magnet on my bumper tonight, got spun in fishhook on the second lap and got hit twice going into one. All good, its racing. See you guys next week!

EDIT: Pacific race was uneventful, only 6 cars with the top four guys running quali laps in the 1:18's.  Somehow I managed to squeek out 4th place.
