Decals - an update

Road Atlanta - Guys were pretty good at getting those decals on. Only a couple of teams gave me some stick. But they did put the decals on.
Sonoma - zero issues.  Ya, sure, no problem, is this right?  I was ready to whip out the DIC ruler and start whacking some knuckles. Was not even needed.

VIR South... Let's see how the Mid-Atlantic guys do.

Harris Hill... Country club racers... Need to take my ascot to fit in. Or maybe a cowboy hat and boots.

Daytona... gonna be fun!

Decals? what is this guy talking about?

New decals for 2019. and we require them on the car before you will pass tech. You will also need all the decals on your car, before you will be allowed to start the race. Just for those guys peeled them off after the last race.

Instructions are in the BCCR.

If you arrive and you failed to get the panels, they are $45 for the 3 number panels. All of the other decals are free. You will pay for them at registration.
We do not have numbers. So go to eBay and buy some black vinyl, bring an exacto knife and some painters tape.
Remove all your old Chumpcar decals. Last years (2018) RVA Graphics and Wraps sponsored number panel is still good. We will give you a free TireRack.com overlay for the top of the number panel. remove the sponsor decals from last year as we have new ones. Remove the RVA window decal. We have new Tire Rack letters. If you have or need a background at the top of the window to shield your eyes from the moonlight, please, do not use yellow, orange or white. Tire Rack will go at the top of the window. Your sponsors or team name will be below the Tire Rack.com die cut decal.  If you want pre-printed window banners, you order those from RVA Graphics and Wraps.
With the vinyl, cut a contrasting letter out to make your class letter on the door.
We also have new rear bumper sponsor decals that require you to either use a sharpie and white your car number in it, or order them pre-printed from RVA Graphics and Wraps.
Download and print these numbers on 8.5x11 copy paper.

ChampCar_Numbers_2019_0-9.pdf

These are the correct font and size to fit three numbers in the panel. Print enough out to do three sets of numbers. Tape them to the black vinyl. Carefully cut the numbers out without cutting your fingers off. Stick them to the number panels.

Remove the Maxxis Decal, unless you have an agreement with them.

@Bill StrongThis might be a annoying question, because I'm sure someone somewhere from TireRack specified, but why couldn't we make a windshield banner that is white with Red lettering a la their real logo and the number panel logo?

Self serving question as it would fit my livery WAY nicer, so sorry for that.  But also seems reasonable as it would reflect their actual logo right?

Shouldn't they all be free? I mean that is what "sponsorship" is for is it not?

If you want an acurate answer I would send an email to Mike C.

Not Bills deal to enforce the rules that he has showing on the instructions.

Then what does this sig line mean? Looks like he professes to do exactly what you said is not his responsibility to enforce...

Oh yeah I can't read, don't you know.

Sorry I missed that one. Guess he is not doing his job so you can then go to Mike C and ask why???????  Does that work for you.

Really you guys? This has been answered. Try to keep up.

The orange eclipse left tech with the correct decals. During the course of the day, it apparently lost its decals. Bill stated this elsewhere. Saw this at Sonoma as well.

Your so funny!!

We just took our old ones off and let me tell you they don't just fall off?? Takes a heat gun and then the glue is left behind and you need to take a 3M glue remover and lots of elbow grease to get that off..................... Oh yes a feel out and hit my head really hard.......what was I thinking.

I kid you not. The white windshield banner does not stick to black duct tape.

Saw another car with the sponsor panel flapping in the wind.

Give. It. A. Rest.

Sorry, but B.S.  I just spent a nice Saturday afternoon with a heat gun and adhesive remover taking those things off, maybe So Cal is different than the Midwest, but I digress.... Also, when the "decal police" states you can't pass tech or be allowed on track without them, I would expect some enforcement, that and after watcing the entire live stream and discussing what we saw......maybe you need to Give. It. A. Rest.

I can actually buy the "they fell off" excuse.  We applied an RVA banner in the warm shop last year, then loaded the car the next morning and left for RA.  When we stopped for lunch a few hours later, it was gone.  Oddly, the replacement we applied in the cold rainy paddock stuck fine, and survived the whole weekend.
