To go along with the other tread, your single least favorite track to drive!

Posted as a racer.

Let's face it, racing is great no matter where you are, even at crappy little Stafford Springs back in Lemons days it was fun.  But what is your least favorite track and why?

I'll start again.  Sonoma.  I detest off camber exits and Sonoma is loaded with them.  Going there without an LSD was painful.  Decreasing radius turns are not fun, I don't even like the sweepers at the end of each lap.  I never "got it".  Maybe it's me.  Add in the 26 hour tow from Denver and a lack of lodging or nice places to eat nearby, and the terrible garage layout which requires ferrying everything for seemingly miles (the oposite of Laguna) and you have a yucky experience.  I suppose I'd go back if we qualify for the Championship, but I won't like it.  So far we are not even close to qualified haha.

this is hard.  if I have to pick one, it NJMP.   I don't hate it, but you are making me pick.

Also NJ is whack.   I had to put a red strip of electrical tape on my clear gas can so I could watch them fill it.

Said it in the other thread, "The Donneybrooke"

Pits are terrible, front straight is dangerous in the rain from the drag strip grip compound, BORING to drive in cars of our speed level, cannot seem to get over 30 cars ever, decently hard on consumables.

Only real perk is the onsite condos and bar.  Now, the competition course is another story, that is a good time!

The short version of any track.  So far I've have to run the short course at Gingerman and Mid Ohio (admittedly not much shorter).  Can't stand it the track is there so use it.

After that it's tracks with not much runoff.  Took a lot of time in the simulator to convince me to go to Watkins Glen.

I don't think these get to the point of the question though.  I don't have a good answer for that as I'm not too fussy about track configuration.

I want to say Utah Motorsports Campus. But I can't as my experience was hampered with the car that had sat for 18 months quickly prepped to help fill the race, by me that was out of practice at prepping cars since I had been out of it for 18 months. I made mistakes that really hurt us from the moment we unloaded the trailer.

Then the fact that my first laps were done at dusk, and as soon as the sun set I had no effing clue where I was on track, and I had a clogged cool suit cooler which made my overweight self not do very well in the hot stressful environment of the Toyota MR2. It was not a fun time.

But... NJMP. I hate that flat track. the area sucked. and I just hated it.

Kinda the same with Moroso. flat and boring. Plus I went into A-fib there. that added to the suckiness. but that's also when we discovered that the A-fib was alcohol induced. Which is what caused me to stop drinking. which is another sucky story... but I am still alive... so it's kinda good. But sucky. I like beer.

I didn't like NCM at all.   Just did not flow for me.  It's like they took corners and threw them together and really didn't think about the track as a whole.

I also will never go to AMP.    It is a better go kart track than a auto track.   It is too small and tight for my liking.

@hotchkis23 nailed it.

The Donnybrook course is much less fun than the Comp Course.  BIR Competition Course is Easily the better track, even if it's the shorter track.

FU*K Daytona.  plain and simple.

I live like 30 miles from the track and only have to make 2 turns and I still hate it many times over, only because our luck there is the worst.  First year, we did awesome think finished 6th overall in our 300zx.  Next year our driver crashed in the bus stop almost destroying the car but a lot of money and metal later it was back to full strength.  This year the Cobra blew the transmission in testing a week before the race, then blew the trans in the first hour of the race.  Then about 6 hours in the mazda blew its rear main and smoked the clutch, i R&R'd the trans and got our renters back in to finish the race after we lost about 2hrs.   Done with that place.

I found Daytona to be kinda dull to drive.  The infield is flat with little grip. The oval was meh.  It was cool to say we did it though.  I suppose a high HP might change that outlook though.

Definitely a true statement. I'd be bored to tears in anything slower than a V8. But - getting 2 or 3 power cars in a draft in the evening when traffic has thinned out... feeling the aero stuff actually change... going faster than you probably should be in a production car with a cage... shoeee wheee..... good times.

You left one out...

2016: FOCK Racing 300ZX crashed

2017: FOCK Racing 300ZX 6 OA

2018: InActiv 626 broken Holley hydramat fitting resulting in fuel starvation and a ventilated block

2019: As described above...

Least favorite all time (not on schedule): Shenandoah at Summit Point - designed by a 6th grader doodling on his notebook in class and paved by teenagers who pave driveways for minimum wage on weekends.

Least favorite on schedule (but never driven): Daytona looks extra boring in converted street cars, been there for the Rolex which is fun. Laps at speed on the banking might entertain me for 3 or 4 laps but after that....ho-hum

Least favorite on schedule and I've driven:  Gingerman, it's ok, we double podiumed there. But to me it's meh. Also lodging there is super expensive for a so-so town in no where ville Michigan.

Hilarious description.  But I like Shanandoah because it's fairly technical and has some cool elements.  I would go there again.

Ditto. I liked the weird layout, felt like most of the track was slow enough an off would be just a flesh wound.

The track surface description.....spot on....

Charlotte....

I also don't really like Watkins Glen.  I had way more fun last year hanging out without a racecar.

Also on my list. Charlotte is 20 mins away and i don't like it due to lack of runoff. Not a strong hate, but i prefer mid size tracks with more runoff for a amateur learning series. I would take another vir date, full or grand course and not a 24hr, instead.

The glen....never had good luck there (2015 blown motor, 2016 my partner team nearly totalled a car, 2018 partner team blew motor in practice and burned wiring off car) and another big track (hp) that has little runoff. If you could pad the walls with pillows or bring lots of backup cars, the rest of the amenities in that area are really good.

Pittsburgh - Not so much the layout as the fact that our car has some sort of allergic reaction to it.  We have had more weird issues to fix in pit/wall bumps/spins there than every other race combined.  Maybe I need to offer up a sacrificial french fry sandwich to the Western PA deities before the race if we ever go again*

*we wont go again.  The team took a vote and I was the only "maybe". :D

The lack of runoff and walls everywhere stinks, but the track layout is very fun to race it is one of my favorite tracks to drive. I was very sad to not make it off the wait list this year and defend the win from last year :(

The distance from trailer to pit lane is bad too.

WGI falls somewhere in the middle for me.
