the5
Looking for Champ legal (non Carbon) Functional spoilers. I have seen the 9lives offering and am looking for something a bit more inexpensive.
Technical Advisory Committee NigelStu Posted June 12, 2019 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted June 12, 2019 Wing or Spoiler? If spoiler, just grab some sheet metal, plastic sheet, thin wood and cut to fit and rivet to your trunk lid (or flip your lid) If you are talking a wing/air-foil, check out Wingmen Aerodynamics https://www.facebook.com/WingmenAero/ Contact @hornerevan on here, or via FB. I have one of their wings, and am impressed.
wvumtnbkr
Wingman wings are the shizz. Evan Horner makes some good stuff. In fact, when I smacked the wall at Charlotte, the wing took sooo much force is bent the mounting on the opposite side of the car and stayed intact! 10 out of 10 would recommend! The wing and the passenger side door are the only parts of the car that were salvageable panels.
Technical Advisory Committee Chris Huggins Posted June 12, 2019 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted June 12, 2019 I made my own and it took about a week of labor plus about $600. The 9LR solution is pretty cheap if you don’t want to DIY
hotchkis23
Just don't trust them to get it shipped to you in a timely fashion, even when you call and are assured it is going out that day......a week after they created the shipping label. Not real impressed in the customer service department.
the5
thanks guys for the Replies so far, Instead of making a new thread I have another question. What is everyones preferred splitter material? Plywood? Abs? Alumalite?
Alchemy Autosport
Plywood, we pay a buddy with a CNC router to cut out a bunch at once and bring a spare to each event. Total cost of the plywood cut out is under $100/ea

Administrators E. Tyler Pedersen Posted June 14, 2019 Administrators Report Share Posted June 14, 2019 Splitter I go with wood. This year I switch to Maple and it's a lot lighter. I'm going to try a piece of Oak as well and see how it holds up. The Maple one has last over one event. The old plywood I was using would be destroyed after one event. jakks
We use plywood reinforced with fiberglass. First one lasted 3 races before our incident at Barber. Had it not been for that I’m sure we’d be at around 7 races.
