Definitely down for this again! I can make a spreadsheet again if need be or help organize, but I've never been to Pitt before

A bunch of people liked it so I cleared out the Gingerman spreadsheet and updated the link below. I think we need more protein things this time as we seemed to run out at Gingerman. Feel free to contribute on the spreadsheet at your leisure.

We had a great turn out last year.

I'm going to try and pull off a couple hundred wings, multiple sauces.

Maybe a pie or 2

We will be there in a track side support role. If anyone needs parts, safety gear, or anything else prior to this event please hit us up. We can ship direct or deliver to the track.

This is will be the last race we are attending this year so we hope it is a good one!

So what's this diecast racing challenge, the Hotwheel House 500, all about?

Realizing there's nothing "official" scheduled the Autobody Specialists Champcar Team and the Hotwheel House is challenging each race team to enter a "stock" and a "modified" 1/64 scale car in a diecast car drag race to find out which Champcar team is the best of the best and has the baddest, fastest one dollar racer ever, or at least on that Saturday night. With the help of Timothy Shannon from the Hotwheel House we are also attempting to collect at least 500 new, unopened toy cars for the benefit of the students of the Autistic Connection of Pennsylvania and this event can go along way towards that goal.

After Saturdays "real car" race we are inviting all registered Champcar teams to join us for a 1/64 scale diecast car drag race. (Hotwheels, Matchbox, Johnny Lighting, etc) The crew from Autobody Specialists (RX7 #139) will host the action on their 1/4 mile scale, dual-lane downhill drag strip complete with electronic starting gates and timing system. The entry fee for each team will cost you 5, that's right - only five new, unopened Hotwheels, Matchbox, etc which will be donated to the Autism Connection.

The format is pretty simple. Bring your 5 car entry fee (again new, unopened toys please) and your stock and modified racer and sign up for the diecast race. We'll "impound" you competition cars and stage them up for the racing action. After Saturdays Champcar race, we'll hold our race. An official stater will begin racing the team cars two at a time, stock class and then the modified class, with the winner moving on to the next round. At this point we're looking for the fastest cars and each lane will be triggered simultaneously. Depending on entry numbers there may be some folks bumped back into the racing and/or some bye runs. When we get to the final rounds the format changes significantly as now a team member from each team in the finals will become the starter for their teams car, We'll also change the system to a real drag race mode that incorporates a light tree, reaction time, and elapsed time into the runs. Yes, you can jump the gun and red light just like the real thing. The finalists will pair up and run off until each class has a champ, then the stock class winner will take on the modified class winner for the overall win.

So what do you win? Well, nothing really but the class champs will take home cool hand-painted trophies as they brag endlessly and marvel at the slowness of the rest of us. The real winners will be the students of the Autistic Connection as Hotwheels and similar toys are proven to be loved by many with autism.

Post up questions here and I'll try to get to them as quickly as possible, you can email us directly at 1058autobody@gmail.com
