Rapido
Looking for a mechanic or shop with Mazda knowledge (specifically NA Miata). Experience with Megasquirt tuning would be a plus. Search is centered on the Richmond, VA, area but willing to consider options within a decent radius. Please pass along all suggestions. Rapido
@Ray Franck yeah, the stop-starting and overload issue was fixed with a new relay and better tune, but there is still a persistent fuel cut-off issue at high reves under load - ideally need a second set of eyes on it to diagnose any issue that would give us a hope of making the next race. I'm no Mazda expert but here is my first 3 things to change out- fuel, filter, pump, regulator .
hotchkis23
Our team ran a MS on our NA6 for three seasons and we also have run them on our autocross cars. @55mini might offer you a lot of insight into this, PM him. We are nowhere near the east coast, but I believe he still has all the info from our car.
Rapido
@hotchkis23 thanks, I've reached out. @Ray Franck fuel and filter have been changed, new pump arriving on Friday, regulator is good. Having a local shop take a look at it on Monday so we'll see what they find.
55mini
Not to stick my nose in on this but I would ask a few questions if you don't mind. What fuel pressure are you running? What are you using for a regulator? Base timing? Tell me at what RPM and under what load and what is the tuners AFR at that range? Any chance you have a fuel pressure gauge in the dash set up? Have you logged your data with the MS? Might be able to point you in the correct direction.
