Rapido
After the glitz and glamour of Indianapolis, with all such associated highs (@David Haines) and lows (@Jab31169), we're back down to ChampCar roots at VIR. The classic 24hr is always a special occasion and we will pay a small homage to it in the CCSS. The race will start just before sunset and end in darkness, testing drivers to the limit. PLEASE NOTE - the Championship race will be 2 hours long instead of the usual 1 hour - this is a special consideration for this round to reflect the endurance required to complete the real event. The championship round will start at 9pm on 7-August and finish at 11pm (Eastern Time). pintodave
Man I am a BONEHEAD! I totally forgot about tonight. Is there a way to set up alerts from the League page in iRacing so I don't forget about these? I need to do some road course racing beforehand to build up my license. Hugh Jass
I think it only takes 3-4 clean rookie races to get a D license. Just avoid taking incidents and you will be eligible in no time.

I did Tsukaba(?) for the first time last night, "stay in the back and learn the track dummy" turned into YEA RACING RACING RACING YEAAAAA. I will say, the big ovals are STUPID fun, but hard to build your iRating. There are some meatballs on there for sure. At Daytona in the trucks I literally don't bother qualifying, I just start in the back and drive around the wrecks (most of the at least ). I'm actually having Lasik done this morning, so hopefully I can jump back on tomorrow and get up to D class road course, then go run a ton of laps at VIR. Rapido
@Jamie race tonight is 1 hour, same as the other rounds, 9pm-10pm Eastern. Championship round next week will be 2 hours, 9pm-11pm Eastern.

I'm going to be careful how I answer that but yes I am licensed properly and will be attending. If I totally suck arse I'll just ride around the back and get my butt kicked as punishment for not practicing more this week LOL (one more clean Oval race and I'll be +4.0 SR for an auto bump to C, so that's what I've been working on)

pintodave
Well that was a bit rough to say the least. I just need more seat time @ VIR to string laps together... Just like real endurance racing, I learned a lot from my first hour-long iRacing stint: - I forgot to practice VIR at night in iRacing, whoops - need moar fans in room - serious question, can you use anti-fog with the Rift? after about 30 minutes it was not only dark, but I had some nice simulated fog going on 5 minutes ago, Jab31169 said: @pintodave Missed ya on the mic. Yea I am literally hopping over to the hardware thread to ask about that... Say @Jab31169 did it look sweet in your mirror when I sent it sailing into the tires on lap 1.5???? For the mic, you have to go into your settings in the game, go to audio, and there is the chat setup, you'll have to configure it to use the rift s mic and output though the rift. Then you'll have to configure a push to talk. I dont really get any fogging issues, but I would imagine someone already has and put it up somewhere on the interwebs. Also, go install crew cheif and get him setup 40 minutes ago, Jamie said: Is is me or is that car miserable after 30 minutes? Its pretty good, paul and I were in a discord chat the whole time and its just like sitting in the room with someone else. The speakers in the Rift leave a lot to be desired, but the mic is pretty good.
