mender
Interesting: the Tegy entry completed 240 laps vs the next two entries with 233 laps but credited with 223 laps. Must have been 670 points. Any information on that car? Edited July 28, 2019 by mender

67Mustang
So five Miata's in the top ten and only two BMW's plus the Integra. All the others bunched up with the Integra 3-4 sec a lap quicker.. Pretty impressed the TA managed to get almost 2 hours per tank and the Intergra was little more than half that. Team Infiniti
Before getting crashed out on Indy day 2 we were plotting a D win, thus watching their pit times, looks like they have no problem with two hours.

Exactly, just proof of the potential for a car that size to make it 2 hrs considering my C3 thread.

Then he got to sit on the tarmac at SLC most of Monday. @Bill Strong - would you kindly check Sunday's results and make sure they are not a duplicate of Saturday's? Voodoo Child
What a great weekend. The Champcar Staff, as always, ran a great event and were incredibly helpful. Even the weather was relatively mild with a nice breeze. As I mentioned in a recent post on another thread-it is a true joy sharing our common passion for racing with others, striving to improve your program, but most importantly making new friendships and renewing old ones is what makes it all worth it. We need to stop every once in a while and appreciate how blessed we are to be able to do what we do. We were pitted next to Cremaster Racing. What great people and what a great car. Freight Dawgs were on our other side with their beautiful BMW 635 in it's first race. Dana hooked them up with a second driver and they did an outstanding job. The Zoom Zoom Kaboom team greeted us on Friday with lots of smiles-their car is immaculate! Looking forward to seeing them at SEMA. Congratulations to Bandits for their Saturday victory and to Utah Valley University for their Cinderella win on the last lap on Sunday. Salt Lake City is a great city with lots to do and some outstanding restaurants. Cucina Toscana is upscale Italian-amazing food and great Italian wine list!! Proper Burger is a Guy Fieri (Diners Drive In's & Dives) favorite. Troy and TJ even got a round of golf in at Mountain Dell Golf Course up near Park City. Oh ya, almost forgot. We raced. We were fortunate to have Shawn Umphries of the Door Slammers join our team for the weekend. He and Rachel rolled out the welcome mat, they rolled up their sleeves to help our team with anything that needed doing, and Shawn helped coach our drivers find the right lines on this very technical track. Shawn, Steve Nichols, Harris Koenig, and Troy Ermish did a great job with a somewhat sick race car. We were chasing some kind of throttle position sensor or ground wire issue (that we still haven't solved). The car ran better at 3/4 throttle than full throttle-and wouldn't run at all below 4,800 rpm. Our ECU was very confused. But we made it home in fourth on Sunday and won the sportsmanship award for TJ and Mike's quick reflexes when the Freight Dawgs pulled in with a fuel line pumping gas out on pit road. We towed from the Salt Lake City Airport to Upland, California in 12 hours-including a 1 hour stop at the Cliffside Restaurant in St George for lunch-towing with my cruise control set to 72 mph. For all those teams who think Utah Motorsport is a long tow-please reconsider making the trip if we are fortunate enough to have the opportunity to run their next year. While not one of our best finishing results, this was truly one of the most enjoyable race weekends in the last two seasons for us. Great competition, a well organized race event with quick and painless registration, and lots of friendly conversation and competition. Can't wait for our next race!!

Technical Advisory Committee mcoppola Posted August 6, 2019 Technical Advisory Committee Report Share Posted August 6, 2019 Can't say enough good things about this. A great accomplishment, and another feather in ChampCar's hat, that the series is providing a similar experience to formula sae for young students to hone their skills! 16 hours ago, FlorahDorah said: There were a lot of feel good moments this particular weekend.
