5pts for hubs not in 2020 rules?

This is how I imagine the conversation would go:

Tech: Hubs are 10pts per corner, 20pts total for you my friend.

Me: Points are now 2.5pts

Tech: What?

Me: It's a new rule, hubs are 2.5pts

Tech: Where did you hear that?

Me: Internet.

Tech: I will give you 100 penalty points for being an idiot.

Me: ok.

Real advice for new teams!

Dont go through tech with what you think is a 500 pt car anymore. Wiggle room is needed for "interpretation"

That is actual, real, serious advise all teams should take.  I tried to get clarification via email only to be surprised when I got to the track for my first race this season.  The wiggle room is a good way to avoid being bumped to EC or taking penalty laps, at least until the rules are solidified or "interpretations" are eliminated.

1) It's not in the new rules.

2) Bill made some post above that made it confusing.

I didn't find hubs listed separately  so......under 4.3.2......"Suspension component (not otherwise listed in this table), non-OE: 10 pts per corner"

In the past, Aftermarket hubs fell under 4.3.2 as @hotrod pointed out above, but this year they were lowered to 2.5 points/side, as @National Tech stated in the post I linked above.

I'll suggest, and try to get this placed in the FPV list so that there's no confusion. Please be patient.

Also, please note that as stated in the other thread, this rule benefits cars like the Focus , but I purposely  did not get involved in the decision.

Then how are things not making it into the rule book after discussions, clarifications and interpretations?

Maybe because it was decided not to put it in the book?

I had to fight, even write a petition, to get the diffuser point value put into the rulebook. Why is there this resistance from management? If an item has been determined to have a certain point value, why not put it into the rulebook so that teams considering that modification know how much it will cost them?

So it's not a rule.

Nope, not a rule, just another of those things that you have to read the forum to know. Maybe it's another one of those fudge factors.

Sure glad that a new team can get all the info they need to join the series by reading the rules. Not like the bad old days when you had to show up at a few races and talk to the right people before building a car.

The communication between tech, management, and TAC is pretty good.  We converse almost every day.
